Nevada (NV) DETR Unemployment Benefits News and Updates – Maximum Weekly Benefit Payments

The Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (NV DETR) administers the unemployment compensation program for the state. The DETR is responsible for processing unemployment compensation claims and paying out benefits, including the federally funded enhanced unemployment benefits.

As many claimants realized, NV DETR had struggled to pay pandemic related unemployment benefits in a timely manner given their antiquated systems, fraudulent claims and processing for a record number of claimants.. However following DETR system and process upgrades many of these issues have now been addressed.

You can also more on recent topics of interest around pandemic unemployment benefits in the sections and comments forum below.

How Much Unemployment Can I Get?

With the expiry the pandemic unemployment programs, only traditional/regular state unemployment is available for full or partial unemployment claims. The table below provides key details on the latest unemployment benefits and qualifying wage requirements.

You will need to submit a claim or certify your application via the state’s unemployment website (see section below on filing a claim) to get your actual weekly benefit amount.

Note that to qualify for unemployment, your job or hours worked loss will generally need to be involuntary. I.e. through no fault of your own or via directly quitting. Your job and wages must also have been paid/covered by an employer or source that deducted unemployment insurance taxes per state law (see your paycheck).

Further if you are being paid severance via a layoff or able to use sick leave or paid vacation, you cannot claim unemployment.

You will also need to certify for benefits at weekly intervals, demonstrate ongoing work availability and evidence of job search requirements to keep getting weekly unemployment benefits.

Weekly Unemployment Available with Dependents (Min – Max)$16 – $469 ; or up to 4% of your highest quarter earnings in base period
Max number of Weeks covered in Benefit Year26
Minimum Qualifying Income over Base Period$400 in one quarter of the base period
Nevada Unemployment Insurance Benefits (Claimant Handbook)

Why is my weekly benefit payment lower than the maximum amount?

Your actual weekly benefit amount (WBA) is the amount of money your state agency has determined you and your dependents may receive for regular unemployment insurance after filing a claim. This can change weekly based on your certification or claim for benefits.

Your actual WBA is based on the amount that you earned over the states pre-defined base or alternate wage period, which are generally based on four out of the last five completed calendar quarters spanning 12 to 18 months.

The higher your earnings, the higher your approved WBA will be, up to the maximum amount allowed in the state. All earnings must be subject to UI tax (covered employment) to be eligible for factoring into your benefit determination.

Any part time or temporary earnings from employment or other activities during eligible weeks you are claiming and certifying for benefits, will potentially reduce the amount of benefits you may get.

Also note that that your state UI agency may deduct overpayments and court-ordered child support from your weekly payment. This will reduce your WBA.

What if I worked or lived in another state?

If you worked or lived in another state during the base year, you should file your unemployment benefits claim in the state you worked in and where your wages were reported. Not where you reside at the time of claim. You can file a claim in multiple states.

Your claim will be paid and governed by laws of that state in which you applied for. You will need to report this on your state and federal income taxes per form 1099-G issued by the state’s UI agency.

Claimants will also need to apply or reapply for UI benefits when they reach the end of their benefit year.

End of Federal Enhanced Benefits (PUA, PEUC, $300 FPUC and $100 MEUC)

The Nevada DETR has confirmed that claimants on the PEUC, PUA, MEUC and FPUC programs will file/certify for benefits for the last time covering the week ending September 4, 2021. Any active claims with or without remaining balances will expire after this date.

While there has been a lot of discussion around extending pandemic unemployment benefits, the Biden administration has confirmed (see video) that states will have to use already allocated stimulus funding to expand or extend traditional state unemployment programs. The NV DETR has not indicated that is planning to do so at this stage, but I will post updates if things change.

Claimants who were eligible for State Extended Benefits (SEB) will get an extra week of benefits, as the SEB program expires the week ending September 11. After September 4th and 11th, claimants must have a regular UI claim to continue receiving benefits.

ID.Me Identity Validation Issues

Thousands of unemployed claimants are reporting issues with the new identity verification system/vendor the DETR is using to tackle issues with fraudulent claims. Earlier this year claimants were asked to use little known third party vendor, whose system uses proprietary A.I. facial recognition software, to verity their identity in order to receive unemployment benefits.

However many claimants in Nevada are reporting this system has not worked for them and have already faced several weeks (or months in some cases) of delays in getting the unemployment payments they are eligible for. The issues ranged from a failure of the facial recognition technology to having to wait for hours to reach a human for a video chat to troubleshoot issues – a service provided via the vendor, and not the DETR.

You can see examples in the comments forum below this article and across social media issues are being reported with this technology which is also used in several other states to verify identities for unemployment payments. The DETR and have said most issues have been worked through and only a handful of complex cases remain to be resolved.

Is the $300 weekly benefit, PUA and PEUC ending early in Nevada?

No. Despite several other states ending benefits earlier than planned, Gov. Steve Sisolak has announced that he is NOT considering ending federal unemployment programs ahead of the current September 6th expiry. Unlike most states, pay rates in Nevada are higher than average and unemployment benefits lower than average. This has meant business for the most part have been able to fill open vacancies as activity picks up in a post-pandemic environment.

Biden Stimulus Bill – Unemployment Benefit Extensions to September 2021

Under President Biden’s $1.9 trillion federal coronavirus relief package, known as the American Rescue Plan (ARP), enhanced unemployment benefits have been extended until September 6th. This includes further extensions to the PUA program, PEUC program, $300 weekly payment under the FPUC program and $100 Mixed Earners (MEUC) program. There were also provisions in the Biden Stimulus package for Unemployment tax breaks on the first $10,200 of benefits received in 2020.

Nevada DETR Latest News and Status on PUA, PEUC and $300 FPUC Payment Schedule

The Federal Department of Labor (DOL) has now issued formal guidelines to implement the latest round of unemployment extensions until September 6th. The Nevada DETR has implemented the system changes to enable it to apply up to an additional 25 weeks for all eligible claimants, through week ending September 4, 2021.  This was much faster than prior extensions and federal unemployment programs (per updates below).

There were some issues with applying extended weeks to the PUA program claimants but that has now been resolved. Claimants should be aware of the following general guidelines around the extended coverage period funded under the Biden ARP stimulus bill.

  • You do not need to reapply for benefits. DETR will automatically enroll you in the appropriate extension and notify if additional information is needed.
  • You should continue to file your weekly claim for benefits as you normally would as long as you remain unemployed.
  • You will not need to contact DETR in order for these program extensions to take effect.
  • This legislation would extend the various benefit programs through the week ending September 4, 2021. This is approximately 25 weeks of extra coverage (the ARP bill had legislated 29 weeks in total).
  • The additional weekly payment of $300 under the FPUC program will be extended through September 4, 2021 as well.
  • Several PUA claimants reported issues with verifying their identity through, but the agency is working with impacted or technically challenged folks to address identity verification issues.

March 17th, 2021 Update on rollout of ARPA extensions

Nevada’s DETR is still updating systems to apply the additional coverage weeks under this extension. They are also still having challenges paying out extended weeks under the CAA given their antiquated systems, and have said PUA and PEUC recipients should be prepared to experience several weeks of delays to get the extra weeks of coverage under ARP.

PEUC Claimants ongoing delays expected – The Nevada DETR UI system cannot process all of the existing claims at one time. Because the system must evaluate and update the payment amount for each week for each claimant, they process payments in batches. In general, they are processing from oldest to newest claims. Some complex claims require manual processing to ensure that claimants receive all of the weeks they are eligible for. As a result PEUC recipients will experience a delay of several weeks before benefits become available. Claimants will retroactively receive all weeks they are eligible for.

I will post updates as more information is provided. So get the latest updates via the options below.

2021 Unemployment Program Extensions Under COVID Relief Bill – PUA and PEUC 11-week Extension Updates

The $900 billion COVID-19 relief package was passed into law on Dec. 27, 2020, which among several other pandemic relief measures extends and provides additional funding for enhanced unemployment benefits. This includes the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA), Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC) and a reinstatement, but halving of the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) Program which provides a $300 supplemental weekly unemployment payment. These programs have been funded and extended for 11 weeks, covering the weeks of December 27th, 2020 to March 14th, 2021. Existing PUA and PEUC claims can be claimed until the week ending April 10th (phase out period).

[Update Feb 17th] The 11-week extension has been rolled out for the PUA and PEUC programs, but DETR continues to see technical issues with paying claims. For PUA they are not expecting to make payments until the end of May. The latest one (per the screenshot below) was one asking existing PUA claimants who were filing for the 11-week extension to file a new claim and be subject to a waiting period. This was incorrect and has caused payment delays which the DETR is looking to fix.

How long will it take before I can get PUA payments for the 11-week extension?

DETR is seeing thousands of applications being submitted and each claim requires a review for each week of PUA eligibility and will take some time. The Division recommends checking the website and your PUA account for any current/updated changes. They are also recommending choosing direct deposit for payment, which will process more quickly. Debit cards will take 7-14 days to arrive. Payments for PUA weekly claims are scheduled to begin by the end of May.

Will I Get the Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC) 11-weeks automatically?

While the PEUC updates for the new legislation have been applied there are some new rules to be aware of. Those who are currently receiving PEUC benefits under the CARES act, will continue to be on PEUC and their eligible weeks will be automatically extended.

Any claimant who had a balance on their PEUC extension as of 12/26/20 but had already filed a State Extended Benefits (SEB) claim early, will be automatically placed back on PEUC in order to capture the additional weeks. This may results in a weeks gap in benefit payments. Any claimant who had exhausted PEUC prior to 12/26/20 and went on SEB will stay on SEB. At the end of SEB, the claimant will be placed back on PEUC up to the expiration of the program.

[Update Jan 12th] – While Nevada has started paying the $300 FPUC payment to active claimants, it has not paid week 6 of the $300 LWA program (per updates below in LWA section). These are two separate programs and funded differently – the FPUC is federally funded under the COVID relief bill, the LWA program was funded via FEMA. Note that Nevada DETR also has to roll-out updates to PUA programs to cover the extended periods and allow those claimants to also get the extra weekly $300 FPUC.

Due to additional requirements for new PUA filers, DETR must update the PUA application programming before new PUA claims can be filed. Depending on the complexity of DOL guidance on changes, it is anticipated that these changes should be implemented within four weeks [so likely won’t be ready till end of January 2020]

Nevada DETR

According to the Nevada DETR claimants with existing or expired claim balances should be aware of the following:

  • PUA and PEUC, FPUC will be automatically added to the claimants’ benefits if they are eligible for the weeks outlined in the legislation.
  • Claimants with weeks remaining in UI should continue to file weekly claims.
  • Claimants who will have additional weeks in UI and PUA or PEUC due to the Continued Assistance Act should watch the DETR website for updates that will allow additional weeks to be filed.
  • Claimants will be caught up on payments for all weeks they are eligible.

Fifth Week of the Lost Wages Assistance Program Now Being Paid. Week 6 STILL NOT PAID

[Update Jan 12th, 2020] Week 5 has been paid, but week 6 is still pending as DETR is currently waiting to hear back from FEMA for funding to make this payment. While FEMA or DETR has not made an official comment I doubt this payment will be made as the overall program expired at the end of 2020. And with the new $300 FPUC payment (discussed above) already being sent, Week 6 may not ever happen.

[Updated December 16th] – While Weeks 4 and 5 have now been paid for most eligible claimants, there are still many reports of missing and delayed payments (see quote below). It does seem that PUA recipients are being paid first, likely due to the fact they had already certified their job loss was COVID related (an LWA requirement). Other UI program recipients, per comments below, are still awaiting Week 4 and Week 5 payments in particular.

Week 6 payments were scheduled to start this week, but it now appears that the DETR is awaiting more funding from FEMA to pay for week 6. Per their official statement, “As to the potential of the last week of assistance (week 6), unless FEMA approves additional funding to pay for a week 6, there will not be a payment for a week 6. DETR is currently waiting to hear back from FEMA.” Again this does NOT mean that Week 6 is definitely not being paid, it just means that it is subject to FEMA funding which was budgeted for 6 weeks per state. But given the delays in Nevada’s DETR LWA roll-out the program expiry date of December 31st may be the bigger risk of this payment being missed vs. FEMA funding approval.

You can see this video for a summary of the issues and potential solutions if you are having trouble with getting information on your LWA payment.

Lost Wages Assistance (LWA) in Nevada – Payments now processing and being paid

The Nevada DETR said that it made a small test run of $300 LWA payments during the week of October 12th to claimants in the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) program. Actual LWA payments to all eligible claimants will take place over the next several weeks and payments will be processed in several batches given the significant number of claimants and system constraints.

[Updated November 30th] LWA Payments for weeks 1 through 4 have been issued. DETR has started making payments for week 5 of LWA to eligible claimants. As in round one, the process is expected to last up to 10 days. After week 5 is completed, DETR will make sure there is enough money left in the grant to pay the final week (week 6) of LWA.

[Updated November 11th] The Nevada DETR has said it has started processing ($300) payments for week 4 of LWA to eligible claimants this week. As in round one, the process is expected to last up to 10 days, DETR said. After Week 4 is paid, DETR will pay subsequent weeks for which they have funding.

Many claimants are not eligible for LWA payments because they are not receiving at least $100 in existing UI benefits (via regular state unemployment, PUA or PEUC) to be eligible for the program.

First 3 weeks of LWA payments now paid

DETR spokesperson, Rosa Mendez, said the first 3 weeks of LWA payments of $900 for those on PUA were paid in batches through 10/23 (confirmed based on article comments). From 10/23 to the end of October, those not on PUA will start getting their first ($900) batch of payments. The remaining LWA payments will also begin processing towards the end of October for ALL unemployment recipients, until Nevada runs out of LWA funding (max 6 weeks).

How to tell if you have been approved and how to tell how much you’re getting

(Thanks to Brent for this comment) Login to your Claimant homepage. Go to the dates of 8/1, 8/8, and 8/15, and if you look at the deductions it should be “Y” for yes click on the “Y” and it will say “Lost wage Assistance” then -300 dollars for those 3 dates. This is good don’t freak out it means your approved. Sorry if this is confusing its hard to explain because it shows up in a weird spot.

Amounts to qualified applicants will be paid retroactively to August 1 for 6 weeks (up to $1800 in total if you qualified for all 6 weeks). Several readers have acknowledged the lack of information and delayed payment relative to other states as you can see in the comments below. I will continue to post updates if new information comes to hand. See further details in the section below including a link to the NV DETR LWA page.

2020 COVID 19 Enhanced Benefits under CARES Act

Under the CARES act, there are three types of federal unemployment assistance available:

• Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA): expands eligibility for traditionally ineligible individuals for unemployment benefits, including independent contractors and self-employed individuals.  Recipients may receive up to 39 weeks of benefit payments under this program.

• Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC): adds $600 per week and the regular benefits that recipients of Unemployment Insurance are entitled to receive; the benefit is retroactive to the week beginning March 29, 2020, and the program expired on July 31, 2020.

• Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC): provides an additional 13 weeks of Unemployment benefits to regular unemployment insurance recipients.

If you have exhausted benefits paid through the regular unemployment and PEUC program, you may be entitled to receive up to 50% of the total amount received on your regular unemployment benefits through the Extended Benefit (EB) program. This program covers an additional 6 to 13 weeks of unemployment benefits, depending upon the number of weeks you were eligible for benefits on your original unemployment insurance claim.

Lost Wages Assistance (LWA) Payment Details and Schedule

In addition to the above enhanced benefits, you may be eligible for Lost Wage Assistance (LWA) if you are out of work due to COVID-19. If your weekly benefit payment is at least $100, and you were eligible for unemployment benefits, you may receive an additional $300 in assistance retroactive through weeks ending August 1, 2020 to September 5th, 2020. You do not need to file a separate request/application for LWA; however, you may need to self-certify to confirm that you are unemployed or partially unemployed because of COVID-19.

Applicants only need to self-certify that they are unemployed/partially unemployed due to disruptions caused by COVID-19. If they don’t self-certify they may not be eligible to receive any of the $300 due to FEMA funding limitations.

Claimants do not need to apply separately for the benefit, or reactivate a claim if they were eligible during the qualifying weeks but have since returned to work. Those still in the backlog will be eligible for Lost Wages benefits if their claim is approved, DETR officials said. See more on the NV DETR LWA page.

Web and/or phone issues with accessing the unemployment systems

The DETR has experienced a high volume of unemployment benefits claims filed since the pandemic began. Given its lack of staff, the agency has had significant delays in processing claims and answering incoming calls. Also, federal assistance received required changes to their online processing systems, which delayed the processing of claims and benefits.

Initial Claims: If this is the first time that you are filing an unemployment claim under any of the federal or state programs available, you must first file an initial unemployment insurance claim to determine your eligibility and which programs may apply to you.

If you are eligible for regular unemployment benefits, you will receive a Monetary Determination Letter and PIN, typically within 7 to 10 business days of filing your initial claim. Your Monetary Determination letter lets you know what financial benefits you may possibly be eligible for; however, this may change based on the weekly claims you submit (addressed under Existing Claimants below).

Existing Claimants:  Claimants receiving unemployment benefits due to the coronavirus pandemic must continue to certify every week to receive unemployment benefits under any state or federal program. This includes the additional FPUC $600/week benefit and the PUA program.

The extra $600/week compensation is retroactive to the week beginning on March 29 and ends on July 31. FPUC payments are automatically added to the weekly benefit payment.

Upon exhausting regular unemployment benefits, you must file a separate application to receive PEUC benefits.

Claimants that have exhausted both regular unemployment and PEUC benefits may be eligible for an additional 6 to 13 weeks of unemployment benefits under the Extended Benefits program. A separate application is required.

Filing an Initial and Weekly Claim + FAQs

You must file your initial unemployment claim through the DETR here. You will need the following information to file your first claim.

  • Social Security Number
  • Personal mailing address and contact information
  • Employment history for the past 18 months, including:
    • Employers’ business names
    • The physical address for each employer
    • Telephone number
    • First and the last date that you worked for each employer
    • The reason you are no longer employed
  • Alien Registration number and the date your work authorization expires if you are not a US citizen
  • The name and local number of the union hall (if you obtain work through a union)

To file a new claim over the phone, the Customer Call Center is available at (866) 832-2363. Phone assistance is available from Monday-Friday 8:15 AM – 4:30 PM; Saturday 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM.  You may also file an existing claim over the phone by calling (800) 897-5630.

To be eligible for Unemployment Insurance benefits in Virginia, you must meet the following eligibility requirements during the pandemic:

  • Unemployed or had a reduction in hours due to no fault of your own
  • Earned enough wages to be eligible for unemployment benefits

Filing Weekly Claims

You must file a weekly claim to prove that you are still eligible and qualify for unemployment benefits.  Your weekly claim cannot be filed until the end of the workweek, which is Saturday at midnight. You have up to 28 days after the end of each week that you are unemployed to file this weekly claim. Weekly claims can be filed online or over the phone.

If you don’t file your weekly claim within the required time, you will not be paid unemployment benefits for the week.

Existing claimants who are eligible for PUA log in here to file their weekly claims.

If there is a problem with your claim that must be resolved before benefits can be paid or you have appealed a denial in benefits, you must still file a weekly claim online or over the phone. If it is determined that you are eligible or if you win your appeal, you will be paid these benefits retroactively. However, if you win the appeal but have not claimed benefits, you will not be paid for these weeks.

I filed my unemployment claim several weeks ago. Will I receive back pay once my claim is approved?

Over the past few months, the DETR has improved its telephone response and claim processing time. However, the large volume of unemployment claims will result in continued delays. If you are eligible to receive benefits but have not heard anything back yet, you will receive retroactive benefit payments up to the date that you were determined eligible as long as you filed your claims each week.

This also applies to the FPUC $600 per week additional benefit, which expired on July 31. If you have filed an unemployment claim before that date and are still awaiting a response regarding your eligibility for unemployment, you will receive retroactive payments for the back weeks of FPUC. This is the case even if the decision is not made until after the July 31 expiration date.

If you are not eligible for regular unemployment, you may collect benefits under the PUA program.  To determine eligibility, you must file a new unemployment insurance claim if you have not already done so. Once your eligibility is determined, you may complete a separate PUA application. You should continue to file weekly certifications during this process. If you are eligible for PUA benefits for weeks that have already passed, you may recover back pay if you submitted weekly certifications.

Can I still collect unemployment benefits if my hours have been reduced?

Individuals who work reduced hours due to the COVID-19 pandemic may still be eligible to collect partial unemployment benefits if your gross earnings are less than the weekly benefit amount. You must continue to file your weekly certification and report any of your wages in the week they were earned, not received. Wages earned may reduce your unemployment benefit.

  1. I still don’t have a Y in my unemployment home page for week #4, but all of my co workers (mind you we’re all still out of work) got their payments.. I got my initial $900 last week October 28 so is this typical? It’s been 3 weeks tomorrow they’re on week #4 payments. I hate relying on this money to live.. but that’s all I have right now, can’t stop life because they stopped our country. Ugh. Anyone else still waiting on week 4?

    • Still waiting on week4. Got weeks 1-3. All regular unemployment plus the $300.
What’s taking so long on money we should already have been paid in a lump sum???

      • ok good to know someone else out there is in the same boat, NOT good that we haven’t been paid though. Thank you for getting back to me on this. It’s getting harder and harder to get by these days. And YES we def should have already gotten this lump sum…. these payments were approved back in August, that’s just how oue great governor works, shows he could care less if they wait until 2022.. Ughh hope you get your soon. Stay safe out there!

      • Thank you for the update and wishes. I hope so too, it’s getting harder and harder to get by these days. Stay safe out there!

  2. I am curious as to how the State of Nevada is justifying that 25 million less than what would have covered weeks 4-6 is reason to not pay week 6. Let’s not forget how long they held the first lump sum of funding for weeks 1-3 and the interest they received on those funds. Now they are rolling out week 4 over 10 days again while accumulating interest, week 5 which should have more than sufficient funding is going to be held for 17 days before all eligible persons will be paid out.
So that means they had 6 weeks of interest on weeks 1-3 before it was distributed. 3 weeks of interest on week 4 (prorating down S payments were made. Week 5 has 3 weeks of interest so far and will more than likely hit 6 at the rate they are processing payments.

Tell me again how the 25 million they did not receive that would have covered weeks 4-6 has not been accumulated in the interest. The funds being held for an excessive period of time I am sure have made close to 5 million without using compounding interest calculations.

    • we need accountability. They are crooks. why we suffer.. They in their mansion. They don’t give a damn about Nevada citizens. Until voting time.

      • I only received 1 $300 payment and no other. My regular unemployment ends in 2 weeks and not sure what my next step is to get an extension for my weekly benefits??
I can’t believe that they have our relief money and will NOT HELP US!
I’m getting so worried now and not sure how to get my money!
        This sucks

  3. The first phone number given in this article is for the state of Virginia not Nevada. And I can’t seem to find anything relative to my LWA payment situation. I am qualified for all 3 or 6 weeks. I receive $181 weekly and still do and have since May. I am not receiving any other payments. 2 weeks ago for the week of Nov 1st I received a separate payment for $270 (after taxes?) And haven’t received a payment since. All 3 phone numbers to contact NV DETR disconnect you after a recording plays. What is my recourse here?

  4. I would like to know why our state, last to even apply for the free money grant (LWA) from FEMA, applied for three weeks for our group of claimants and it was granted—-then filed for 3 more weeks and it was granted….those funds have been sitting in a bank since September gathering interest…..lots of interest…….yet from the beginning , DETR has announced its claimants will receive “4….possibly 5 weeks of payments.” Excuse me? Why are our state agencies not being accountable? If a private company applied for funds for its employees and then only released 66%-78% of those funds and kept the interest while the employees waited……the owners of that company would be criminally charged and incarcerated——I fail to understand why our state agencies are so brazenly and openly skimming funds without explanation.

    • My feelings exactly. It is shameful the way this has all been handled. If anything Nevada should have been given more and handled even faster than any other state due to our horrible job losses and high unemployment rate.

  5. I don’t know if I’m eligible or not. I originally filed my claim in July. Received a lump payment Aug 11 which equaled out to my regular weekly benefit amount for 5 weeks but I never got any correspondence saying I was approved. Then I started receiving my regular benefit amount each week after that. On 10/26 I received my weekly amount plus an additional $540 but have no clue what that was or where it came from. I’m so confused on this. Does anyone have any answers for me?

  6. Sorry, I’m super late tot he party. I filed for partial unemployment 9/29/20, and was approved for $483 weekly. I’ve filed every week since then, my hours went from 40 to 22.5 at work. Late October, I filed my claim on the 24th and on the 25th, it said I had to reactivate the claim. I just filed again for last week, when I went back, it said, reactivate the claim. I just got my first payment of $111 to the debit card. Is the typical? I’m so lost.

Please, anything will help. Thank you advance!

    • double check, I got a “Y” also, when I clicked into it they gave themselves $42 because I was “Overpaid?” I haven’t done a thing different, somehow they are implying I “Overpaid Myself?” So now they have my $300 from Federal, helped themselves to another $42 of mine, plus interest. I’m sure this happens to 1 or 2 or 191,707 other unemployed…Wow, $342(191,707)=One Big Not So Private Elected Official Party!! Did any other of My Fellow Unemployed Voters Get That Invite? Can’t go myself, I have Covid, Two of My Daughters have Covid, My Step-Mom Has Covid, My Dad is 76 and in the Hospital Dying from Covid, days to live. Guess They think I don’t REALLY need that $342……

    • what is this y people on here talking about that they got for week 4! I have recieve my week 4 payment but dont see a y next to the week! what is the y? Im waiting on week 5!

  7. Still no 4th week pending or otherwise. I finally got a job but I have no money for gas to get there. WTF NEVADA?? Get your shit together. How are families suppose to survive. I might not be able to start this job now

    • Same for me. Got the first three weeks but nothing showing for the 4th week payment at all. Not even a Y or pending to go on card. This is bull.

  8. Hi everyone
I haven’t received any LWA payment. At this point, does this mean I am not eligible? I’ve been receiving UI since July and more than $100. Worried here. Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you!

  9. I haven’t received my regular unemployment for 11/10 let alone the extra 300. Has any received their regular unemployment?

  10. Hi everyone

To try and help clarify things, NV is eligible for all 6 weeks of LWA. That being said, if you got the first lump $900 and were still eligible and receiving benefits for the following 3 weeks after starting Aug. 22 – sept. 5 and you were getting at least $100 in benefits then you will get the additional $300 per week however they are rolling out those payments and taking 2 weeks each time in between starting last week Mon. 11-1. Today is also a paid holiday so that is why some might not see it yet today but you should have your $300 for week 4 by this Friday or at least have it pending and see the LWA in your claimant homepage under week 8/22.. hopefully this helps. Take care!

    • So I recieved one week of the 300 and my husband recieved all 3 weeks of the 1st 300 payments. But we have not seen the 4th week at all we are on the eua the extended unemployment assistance program and nothing on our claimant page shows any additional payments wht would we revieve the 1st 3 weeks of the fema relief money and nothing thereafter im do confused cause we just talked to a lady from unemployment and she said it was only 3 weeks. Wtf

    • Thank you for this, wondered when week five would appear as it was not on my card today, 11/17. Will be looking for it next week.

  11. I still don’t show anything for week 4 pmt. I have a y on every week and recieved the initial 900 but any clue when I’ll see the 4 wk pmt it’s been two weeks.

  12. This is regarding the 13-week PEUC benefits… Has anyone filed for this program and actually received the money yet? I filed 7 weeks ago after regular unemployment ran out and it STILL says “pending resolution”. And of course I can’t get anyone on the phone from unemployment. Just seeing if anyone else has had the same issue.

    • Kelly I’m in exactly the same situation. When I did get thru to detr they said adjudication process was 14 -16 wks out . I recieved the lwa 900 pm almost 3 wks ago but nothing on week 4 yet.

      • So they told you it would take 14-16 weeks to Finally get the PEUC payments?? Omg the program itself is only 13 weeks!! Unbelievable!

    • I am in the same boat Kelley. I filed for the PEUC and received a letter that I was approved and given a weekly $ amount and then did not receive any weekly benefits. Oddly enough, I received the lump sum of $900 and then the week for of $300, but no weekly unemployment benefit going on 8 weeks now. I did speak to a guy in fraud and he told me it was a simple matter of someone just clicking on approved. He could not do it because it was not his department. So, no, you are not alone in your situation.

  13. I just got my week 4 payment last Thursday or Friday… Can’t recall exactly, but definitely received it. And week 5 should be on the way soon guys! Hold tight!

      • Unfortunately im still waiting for my additional weeks of pay. I have only received the $900 from a few weeks ago and thats it. I just dont understand why this is taking so long?

        • Me either this is a total mess, then as of Monday our main call center has been shut down due to someone having C-19 yet it’s not like they were answering anyways. Hope they don’t have a excuse for that as well but they said they were rolling them out as of Monday coming for all those receiving anything other than PUA yet I still don’t have a Y for my deductions I don’t know this is annoying.

    • I only record 1 payment of $300 this week !’
What is taking so long, this is very difficult not to have the rest of the money…
      Very disappointed

  14. Just wondering has anybody received their fourth week of LWA? I I got the $900 like 2 weeks ago and nothing since. I’ve been keeping up on here every day to see if anything has changed, but I’m just wondering this week did anybody get that fourth payment? I don’t get why it’s taking so long since every state is basically paid. I had the Y’s for the first 3 weeks and it said LWA, but on the next week I can click on the Y but it doesn’t say lwa I’m starting to get a little stressed again. Does anybody know if it’s just going to go on our weekly money or it can show up at any time my $900 showed up with my weekly money and what I’ve read is at the end of October its going to be in the next week or so, it’s already almost the middle of the month what’s going to happen or what’s going on does anybody really know?

    • Im in the same boat, they said it could take 10 days so 2 business weeks to have everyone paid week 4. Mine showed those LWA on the Y on first 3 weeks too, but I got mine the last 2 days out of the 2 weeks they sent the batches so I’m expecting we should have our week 4 payment at least confirmed or deposited no later than this Friday since this is the 2nd week they’ve started processing week 4 payments. Hope that helps!! :)

      • I just checked the Y’s and it shows the 3 we already got paid but 8/23 when I click the Y it dont show the LWA. I really hope we get it tomorrow. I know people that got the 4th last week. This is so screwed up and unfair how there doing this and making us wait so long, and get stressed out. I just want to go back to work and forget about this shit unemployment. Its really ridiculous. Hopefully tomorrow

    • I’m trying to see where you can see about the payment of the LWA on your homepage. Please tell me how. Thank you

    • I received week four LWA Thursday the 12th. Four weeks after the $900. Hopefully this isn’t a four week process. I haven’t read of other states having this level of difficulty. Welcome to the new Nevada.

  15. It’s disgusting, they don’t have to send out a week at a time to see when they run out of funds. Sounds like a sisajack idea, he’s dumb as they get. Thanks to trump we are even having this conversation. Are b.s. government is to worried about embarrassing more nation wide over this voter fraud crap.

    • Nope, still waiting for it now this is the weirdest way to issue money anyways. Other states have gotten theirs in one lump sum but not us this is ridiculous!!! Yet don’t see the deductions yes it’s still a No but yet we got our first set. This isn’t rocket science.

    • Only 3 more weeks of $300 if you qualified all 6 weeks retroactive from Aug.1-Sept.5. Trump Executive Order For PEUC was only 3 weeks of $300 and your state had to cover extra $100 or any extensions in benefits there after. UI NV only says I had the deductions for three of those weeks and received only $900.

      • If you were eligible all 6 weeks for reg UI aug 1- sept 5 then yes you will still get the additional $300 after our first lump sum, many I work with got theirs already however it’s taking DETR 2 weeks each time to send them out, not weekly. I suspect you should have it by end of week this Friday at least pending to go into your acct. Monday. Don’t forget today is a holiday too, so they probably weren’t putting anything in. Hope this helps, I’m in the same boat.

      • I have received only the first 900. It shows yes No deductions like before for first payment. It has N instead of Y.. do you have any idea what this means?

      • I got my 4th week. My UI regular claim ended the week of 8-15. You will get it eventually. I got mine today 11-18. PEUC does qualify for weeks 4-6, assuming there is a 5th or 6 week. Hang tight you will get it.

  16. Question… i got the $900 lwa but didnt get the 4th week this week and im not seeing a “Y” on my deduction. Did anyone of u guys got ur 4th week yet? Please just worried thats all . Thank u

    • Same here I got the 900 but haven’t seen anything else and my deductions also say n. :( Honestly the lack of communication from DETR is so frustrating, I’ve learned more from these comments than from the unemployment offices.

    • Hi M.B.V., if you received the $900, I wouldn’t worry about it, as long as you’re found eligible for the remaining 3 wks. I didn’t even get the $900 until 2 days ago, the day after I got the 4th wk. I believe they’ll input the remaining weeks each week. Hopefully the letter “Y” will show up for you soon. Good luck!!

        • Hi Michell, I just responded to you but I don’t see my comment ??? Maybe it’ll show up later. So All I said is that I think the remaining 3 weeks, under deductions, the letter “Y’s” you’re talking about, will be entered after each payment is complete. You may not see anything at the moment bc your payment hasn’t processed yet…that’s my guess

        • Well this comment posted, the other one is more detailed, hopefully it’ll pop up later

        • Michell, if this helps, I just checked my homepage and only deductions show for first 4 weeks so far

        • And where’s Andy???? Haha.. sorry Andy, I’m not trying to to take over, I’ll leave it to you to answer/ respond to everyone..thanks again for all the info, really appreciate it

  17. Not sure if anyone can answer this for me but i reveived the lump sum of $900 but it shows a N for the additional 3 weeks so im not getting the full 6 weeks of extra pay? Nothing changed in how i filed so im not sure why im not eligible? I do receive a partial pay from my job but i have lost wages due to covid so i guess my unemployment is an exception to the general rule of receiving unemployment? I mean i received the extra $600 we all got in the beginning just cant figure out what makes me ineligible to receive the extra $300 for the other weeks? Any input is appreciated. Thank u.

    • Talked to unemployment on the phone this morning and they are only doing 3 weeks she said. So the 900 is all we are getting.

      • Not true. Rosa Mendez, the agency spokeswoman said that the second-round payments will be sent one week at a time.

“We are planning to start the release of week four’s payment next week,” Mendez said. “If it rolls out as round one did, we expect it to take up to 10 days. Once that is complete, we will be sure we have enough money left in the grant, and then we’ll OK paying Week 5.”

        • Yah thats a lie haha they are sending the 4th week starting soon that unemployment idiot lied to you.

        • I waited on hold for 6 hours, talked to two different people and they both said the 900 is all we are getting.
I hope they are wrong but I am just relaying the message to you all.

        • Relaying false info is sad tim. I already have my 4th week showing up on my deductions along with a bunch of others so you are lying.

        • I have nothing on my page
          Nothing under the deduction area
Just a big fat N lol
          Still hoping

        • Andy, you’re amazing, but it shouldn’t be up to Brent, you, or anybody to find little “tricks” to find out when benefits will come. DETR and the state need to be informative and at least try to show they care. Other states haven’t had these kinds of issues.

        • Not your fault Andy, but Ms. Mendez was a little off. It took four weeks between 1-3 and number four for me. Running a bit behind I suppose.

      • Oh doesnt that freaking figure! Thanks Nevada! Im more impressed though that you got through and actually were able to speak to someone.

      • Well guys after I texted that long message, the $900 finally showed up wed morning, I checked my deductions on claimant homepage, where Brent said to look and low and behold the “Y’s” showed up and I believe there is even a week 4 showing. So thank you guys @Brent @Andy for all the info. Sorry for the previous long text that I typed yesterday afternoon but it didn’t post until today. Good luck everyone, just be patient, looks like week 4 is on it’s way

        • Haha you’re welcome Sunshine. Just be patient, I’ve been reading all these articles regarding when funds would be distributed and completed by last Thursday which obviously wasn’t true bc I just received my first 3 weeks two days ago, I believe they’re still paying out the first batch and looks like the 4th week will take awhile too so I’m pretty sure you’ll get it, just keep checking on claimant homepage (Brent’s trick) click on the dates for aug/ beginning of sept and check to see if there’s a “Y” under deductions for those dates. From all the articles I read, looks like we will get paid weekly for the remaining 3 weeks so you won’t see the next letter “Y” until 4th week is paid, if that makes any sense.. sorry my short texts end up being a novel hahaha .. I used to work with a Sunshine and I knew another one from when I was in high school, we were both cheerleaders at different schools..funny if you’re one of the Sunshines Have a great weekend!!

    • Saw the article Brent and Andy were referring to. Hopefully this may answer some of your concerns. I was on the phone w/ unemployment 3 times in the last week. When I initially filed my UI claim back in march, I wasn’t given the question regarding wether I was partially unemployed or unemployed due to covid. I wasn’t able to self certify on the unemployment website. I had a feeling this would affect me receiving LWA funds, bc I qualified making over $100/wk and was on UI back in August, well actually since March. I know there were a few of you asking how to do self certify. You have to call DETR so they can update your claim. When I called them, the rep asked his supervisor and that issue was taken care of. So it stated “Yes” on my claim now but then I asked when would I be receiving any funds? Honestly DETR claims they have no way of checking and that I would just have to keep logging into my BoA debit account and hopefully I get something. I was told that I was definitely eligible and there shouldn’t be a prob. I called them last monday 10/26. I called back on wed, 10/28 bc I saw the trick that Brent posted and had other questions again, btw thank you to Brent, I didn’t have any letter Y’s under deductions for 8/1, 8/8, 8/15, but I figured that had to do w/ my claim just recently getting taken care of. Obviously under deductions there prob wouldn’t be any letter “y’s” since those weeks were already paid out to me. This rep basically told me the same as the other rep, they have no idea if a claimant will be receiving any LWA funds, they said they have no control over that and payments are sent out in batches otherwise their system would crash. They both told me to call back yesterday if I didn’t see anything and of course nothing still. Sorry this email is so long but I was trying to answer some of your concerns. So when I spoke to the rep yesterday, she had the same thing to tell me but I brought up the article that Brent and Andy mentioned earlier bc I too read that they were finished paying out the lump sum of $900 last Thursday per spokeswoman Rosa Mendez, the rep said “I don’t think we’re finished paying out the initial funds ($900) bc we would’ve received an email” she asked one of her supervisors and supposedly they are still not finished paying out the $900, so maybe still some hope for me and some others out there. With that being said, that could possibly be why you guys haven’t received week 4 yet? Kinda makes sense right? But please don’t quote me on that. I’m just stating what DETR told me. To answer the other question, the guys on here, Brent and Andy are right, 6 weeks are to be paid out. You should be receiving the first 3 wks as a lump sum of $900 then they will follow up with weeks 4-6, one week at a time. The rep ended our convo saying, “just wait a few more weeks and hopefully you get the $900, but if you call us, there’s nothing we can do on our end except check to see wether you were paid the funds or not.” Why did all 3 reps tell me to call back if I didn’t see any money but at the same time they can’t do anything about it.. so much for a short email. I think I just wrote a book haha..I like to be very thorough, so again sorry for the longest email. that was 3 days of speaking to DETR since last Monday. even one of the DETR reps asked me if I wanted to work there.. hahaha..umm.. no thanks..just give us our money!! Haha

  18. Latest news this was an article from 0ctober 30th

The next round of federal $300-a-week benefits for jobless Nevadans is scheduled to start hitting bank accounts next week.

The Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation said it finished paying the first round of the Lost Wages Assistance program to eligible claimants Thursday. The federally funded program provides an extra $300 a week to Nevada residents who receive at least $100 a week in benefits from unemployment insurance or the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance program.

Rosa Mendez, the agency spokeswoman, told the Review-Journal that second-round payments will be sent one week at a time.

“We are planning to start the release of week four’s payment next week,” Mendez said. “If it rolls out as round one did, we expect it to take up to 10 days. Once that is complete, we will be sure we have enough money left in the grant, and then we’ll OK paying Week 5.”

BTW how gross is it that she is saying we might get a 5th week.

    • Wow, what do you mean “ok paying week 5”? Nevada was given enough to pay up to 6 weeks, Fema confirmed 6 weeks of funding and I cannot understand why it is given week by week instead of a lump sum, what part don’t you guys get??. At a time like this, that money is a lifeline. We are struggling to put food on the table, pay for bills.

      • That’s right in Sept.Nevada get $224.million than ask and approved an additional $199 million this together $423 million they have to pay all these 6 weeks no matter what They get $423million no more BS enough is enough

    • Yea, they always have some sort of excuse not to release any funds, its all about the money to keep as much as they can. Meanwhile people are loosing their homes, families their sanity and heir self worth.

        • Still haven’t received the first round!!! Not even many others that I’ve spoken to. So weird not sure if we are even going to get it

        • Hi Noemi and Lisa. I didn’t receive the first round, lump sum, until 2 days ago, then I got my 4th week yesterday. If you scroll back up, I wrote the longest messsge regarding LWA. Just make sure you self certify, when I initially filed my UI claim back in march, I wasn’t given the question asking if I was unemployed due to covid, so I called DETR to have them fix it, which now made me eligible. Also, make sure you made at least $100/ week, I think before taxes, during the month of Aug. and beginning of sept. also you may not have been processed yet, when I spoke to DETR last Monday, the rep asked her supervisor and told me that they were still distributing the first round, lump sum of $900..she said it would take awhile, that is true bc I didn’t get my money until 2 days ago..DETR stated, they have to do it in batches otherwise their system will crash. Just be patient, hopefully you both will receive LWA soon.. hope this helps, good luck

    • Well today is November 03,2020. No one got paid the 4th week yet. Let’s see if Mendez is pulling our legs.

    • Hey if your deductions are showing up for the remaining weeks is this supposed to start for everybody, cus mines haven’t been deducted yet

      • Its only showing up for one more week not all 6. I got 4 weeks with lwa but i have not received my 4th week yet. They said the 4th week would take 10 days to get everyone so they are doing it in batches again im guessing

  19. Does anyone know when were soppose to starr recieving the last 3 weeks. And why is it every state but oirs gets theres in lump sums ya the 300 a week helps but the lumo sums sure helps you catch up a little when you behimd.

    • No one knows and we ain’t getting 900 more because this state was the last to apply so we only getting 2 more payments of 300 not 3. Neveda is approved for 1500 a person since there was nothing left. Blame the idiot governor for your suffering

      • Nevada was awarded $423 million out of that about $69 million was paid out for the 3 weeks were is the rest. This whole state is corrupted

        • Yesss that’s the truth CORRUPT Disgusting people just remember this when the Election coming Mr.Sisolak Well these men don’t care he’s living a lavish lifestyle when in he’s State people suffering.

  20. I’ve been on regular UI since this all started back in March and we were told in Nevada if you lost your job due to pandemic and make over $100 for the qualifying weeks in August you get it. Well here we are Halloween and Nothing . No money no update … No Y under deductions for those weeks I’ve heard about absolutely nothing.. this State Governor as well as UI system is a Joke.. it’s simple messed up I have no idea what’s going on and it’s hard enough being unemployed but when you’re not paid what you expect and are eligible for.. that’s just Unacceptable.. if anyone else has most recent updates with same problem please respond..GOD Bless

    • Hi CJ, scroll back up to see how to self certify. I posted but not sure if it’s up yet. Basically you have to call DETR and a rep has to change it in the system, they’ll put yes under the covid question. Just read what I posted. Hope this helps and Good luck

  21. Since receiving my LWA 900$ 2 weeks ago i have not for 2 weeks now received my weekly benefit amount even though it shows as being paid. Called to find out wtf waited on hold 4 hours… Im super stressed out any body else have this issue or am i just that lucky..?

  22. I have also read the same that Nevada was approved for 6 weeks total and that after the first 3 we will see 1 to 2 more weeks!!!!!!!!!?
Nevada better not keep the money.
How could we find out? That makes me so mad.

    • Even if we found out no one would do anything. That’s why corruption is so easy people are too busy smoking weed and watching Netflix to fight back.

      • I’m not smoking weed and can’t afford to pay Netflix anymore but how about we reach out to a class action attorney and see what their thoughts on it are in regards to getting the full amount of money we are owed and start also reaching out to the people at FEMA in charge of issuing the funds? I’m game to start it if I have others support. Who wants in? I’m completely serious.

        • Useless sorry people have tried going down the legal route and the judges shot them down. It would take mass numbers and violence to change things so it’s never happening. We need to literally grab sisolak and throw him from a bridge to prove a point lol.

  23. The LWA finally showed up on my claimant page this morning (Thursday 10/29). Hopefully that means it will be in the account tomorrow.

  24. Just wanna know how to self certify and if all ui claimants will receive-300! Per week? My claim started 8/27/2020

    • However no you had to had been had a claim open since the Covid started and on the 1st of August you would get that back pay of 300 for those first 3weeks and also have to been received $100 or more for your claim pay outs weekly.

      • Okay so I read somewhere that they were in the start putting out the extra 300 a week with this week’s claim I received my normal claim no lost wages assistance again this week know why by my clean for me to click on I have been on unemployment since day one of the covid-19 virus situation with no issues with my claim I receive the first 900 but I haven’t received anything else I know you say there’s a place to self certify I have no place to self certify on my page anywhere so I called them and they have no clue none they don’t know what to do or what to tell me they have no idea how they are determining who gets the money or who doesn’t or when it will happen or if it will happen quote on quote I waited online and on hold for about an houso I guess I really just want to know does anybody else show that they’re going to receive the 300 with this week’s claim?

  25. Andy do you know when the second batch of $900 could possibly be deposited. I know they said end of October just trying to get a clearer understanding. Thanks

    • Sadly we live in the shitty state of nevada so we only get 5 weeks of pay not 6 and they said we get it one week at a time not in a lump some. So maybe 300 a week on top our next 2 weeks of unemployment

      • I live in nv too and still havnt recived any back pay any idea why and i was laid off do to covid and clamied weeks everyone is Eligible for

    • I too am wondering. It would be nice to get a bill knocked out. I’ve read subsequent payment was coming the last week of October. Well, this is the last week of October and nothing, not a word from DETR. If you can’t do it then send a message that says so. They always keep us in darkness. Quite rude.

  26. Hello guys! So I’ve been working only 4/5 hours during the 8/1-8/22 weeks.
My Weekly benefit amount is over $100, but during those weeks I got paid less than $100 in UI (since I worked those 4/5 hours)
Am I still eligible for the extra $300?
    Thank you!!!

    • To be honest its doubtful. I have talked with another guy with the same situation amd he was not able to recieve LWA

    • It’s based on your benefit allowable. I did the same thing and got the $900 even tho I only received $79 in unemployment for those 3 weeks.

  27. I just received $810 plus $300 last week and was totally confused. I’m guessing it’s the $900 for 3 weeks of pay, minus taxes? I’m grateful for it because I have a huge bill this week, but will we get another payment? For just another 3 weeks like were promised? Or is it supposed to be a pay out til the end of December? Trying to understand where the money is supposed to be coming from.

    • 900 was from the LWA we are supposed to be getting 300 a week for the next 3 weeks for the other 900 because nevada is run my idiots. Im using my LWA to move to Arizona this place is shit.

    • No shitt? How long have you been on unemployment for?! Because I received the first $900 lump sum but I’m still waiting for the extra $300-$600 It’s always something with DETR. I get that they’ve never had such a large amount of claimants in history but you’d think with our technology nowadays things would have gone alot smoother as far as issuing our payments❗Like come on noww, don’t get me started on the amount of people who are struggling here in Vegas‍♂️It’s sad❗

  28. My husband applied for PUA in July and hasn’t received anything yet. The website just says “processing”. 45 days ago they said he would receive his benefit in 30 days. We call and can never get through. Does anyone have info on this situation? Thanks.

    • My wife’s is the same when she filed her claim the emailed us say you meet all the guide lines and you are financially eligible that was in June after a month of calling every day we finally got through to have them tell us our claim was under investigation we thought to our selves that it was bull shit well a week after that we got a msg from them saying your claim has gone through an investigation and we have found nothing wrong with your claim your claim is approved that was in July here it is almost November and we have not seen one cent and last week the whole page of our weekly certification says DISQUALIFYING WEEK for all our back pay and certs I think everything they are doing is wrong here we are up front and honest to get stepped on and drug threw the mudd and all these criminals who are commiting fraud are being approved and receiving money I don’t know what these people are doing but me and my wife have a 15 month old daughter we are facing eviction about to be homeless and they have approved us we have uploaded every document and more and we still have no money coming in from what we are approved for and we are owed $19,000 dollors of back pay and to make things worse they put our claim back under investigation I have emailed the governor ,Detr and they said they can’t do nothing it’s on PUA not only is the govonor unfit to run this state but nv is a joke i think it’s time to sue for slot more than we are owed .

  29. Has anyone received the $900 but it not show on your claimant page?
Also those who only received 2 payments were you eligible for all 3?

  30. So I found a way to tell if you have been approved and how to tell how much you’re getting. Login to your Claimant homepage. I only found this because of another post I made where other people pointed it out so a lot of people who didn’t get paid are seeing this pop-up. We think the funds where come tuesday but possibly tomorrow. I hope this helps some people.

    • I like to ask you why I have a Y for only three weeks I’m owed 6
I filed our weekly claim my husband and mine yesterday and I look at his page and he has a why for this week’s and I do not there has been absolutely no change at all in an hour income or situation so I’m curious to know why there would be a why by this week’s claim on his and not on mine

      • Well, you only get 3 weeks at first as a lump sum. This is Nevada the worse state in America we applied last because our governor is a moron so you don’t get 6 weeks. They are paying 5 and the other 2 weeks of pay come the following weeks. Also, I’m guessing your husband has a yes for this week because he has taxes deducted.

        • No he hasn’t opted to have taxes taken out in any way he recently applied for the extension like 2 weeks ago and I haven’t had to do that yet mine has not exhausted but I have had no change and I have Wise by the last three weeks that they gave it to me but nothing for this week this week is an end and on his it is a y

    • Okay, but what if I wasn’t getting any deductions? I won’t be able to see anything? Because there is nothing there for me to click on.

      • They switch to a clickable Y if your getting it or maybe they have not processed you yet they are doing it through out the week.

    • Hello Brent, I click on the “Y” for each week & it only shows the taxes deducted, no -300. My initial claim was due to Covid, yet here it is Tues the 27th & I’ve received nothing. Last night my regular unemployment amount went onto my card, but nothing more. I don’t see anywhere to self-certify either. Can you help with any info?

      • It’s hard to help Corey because if the LWA is not showing up on those dates then they either have not processed you as they are doing it in batches or somehow you do not qualify. Were you unemployed in August on those dates and were you getting more the $100 a week? If yes to both you do qualify and they might not have got to you yet, If you do not see anything by Thursday I would call them they might have messed up.

    • What should I do if I do not have Y under deductions, does this mean I do not qualify for the funds? I need it and I haven’t received any additional funds.. thanks Lisa

  31. Can anyone who has completed SELF CERTIFY please leave a comment describing exactly where to find this mystery qualifier. Thank you so much.

  32. I am struggling to understand why Nevada is the 2nd hardest hit state financially but we were the VERY LAST to apply for aid. I don’t know how it all works, but basic logic and reasoning would dictate that because our do-nothing Democrat dragged his stupid ass so long that the well has run dry. If states want Democrat policies for some reason, their budgets should have a surplus and median wages 50k+ on average. Only a wealthy state can afford this nonsense. For Example Boca Raton Florida has been Democrat run by my old pals Barry Silver, Irv Slosberg, and his daughter Emily Slosberg and it is just fine. There is a surplus in such a wealthy community and( D) policies are just fine. Poor cities need (R) until we can afford (D). You feel me? It is ass backwards in most places. High crime, high poverty, and unemployment areas need a Democrat to save them like they need a hole in the head!! Let the Dems ONLY control wealthy cities and USA will thrive. Putting a Democrat in an ailing city or state is like trying to get $ out of the homeless guy passed out on my stairwell. Pointless and fruitless!

    • Amen, our ill minded govenor is a total joke!! Can’t stand his stupid self. What a total failer he has been in every possible way.

  33. I spoke with someone at Detr and they told me I should receive my $900 lwa benefits by Friday. They said the benefits are going out in batches beginning from Last Friday. For the record I receive UI benefits.

      • You have to go into the DETR UI system (see their website or links in article). It is important to note that payments will go out to ONLY those claimants that indicated their claim was filed as a result of COVID and were getting over $100 from other UI programs. Claimants who are determined ineligible for UI or PUA unemployment benefits during any of the weeks would not be eligible for LWA.

  34. This whole thing is beyond believable, we were the last to get approved out of 50 states plus Guam and Puerto Rico. There’s always an issue, whether the great decision to change managment several times at deter in weeks. Or waiting for approval to apply for Lwa.
We are short handed at deter, really? Oh having tech problems with system to pay its, or not making last 600 payment as scheduled. We have the highest unemployment numbers in the nation. Seems like no priority of the big guy, to busy working about mail in ballot crap. They start some task Force to get things up to speed, really effective. Say we have no money left, I bet closing down every tax source in state. Like the DMV, what a joke that is, got an appointment for x mas eve. Soonest available what a joke, hope everybody really thinks about all this when voting. Our first Democrat Governor in years really took care of us? Or these useless hacks like Lee not putting in any effort to get help for nevada being the most impacted. But getting money for herself. This is inexcusable, I was middle of the isle, not anymore. Going right,is common sense. Sorry for the novel, could go on for 20 more pages. God bless us all!#

  35. I received my lwa (900$) but did not receive my regular wba even though it shows its been paid out and there is a transaction number. What do i do?

  36. I see some comments from Nevada saying that the payments are exhausted and nobody’s gonna get anymore that’s not what I hear every where else. I haven’t got mine yet im stressing bad, is Nevada still playing Andy do you know anything

  37. I’ve been getting UI since the start. Do I have to self certify or redo my claim In order to receive the LWA. If anyone knows something let me know.

    • Yes, if you were not getting your unemployment through the PUA program then you will need to certify/verify you are eligible for LWA.

        • Please let me know how to self certify for LWA. I can’t find any link on the DETR Self Service Portal.

      • It was told to me from a supervisor from the unemployment office that the benefits were exhausted, If its not true… I wonder why haven’t i received a dime yet?

      • I do not receive my unemployment through the pua program the regular unemployment program last week I got my regular claim plus my $900 this week I got my regular claim no link on my page to self certify so I called them and they told me they don’t know what link I’m talking about and they told me they don’t know how they are determining who gets the money or not they have no clue when you do get through to them the young man had no idea but yet he’s answering the phones they can’t fix a problem when you call they have no clue if you qualified for the first 900 why should you have to do anything else to qualify for the next 300 paymentsthe article you shared says self-certify there is no place to self certify anywhere they’re not putting the links up at all

  38. The payments for regular claimant started yesterday so where is my payment I file normal every week. DETR hurry up!

  39. From my understanding, several people under the PUA program have received LWA payments as part of the initial rollout here in NV. All of those eligible should be receiving their initial payments of LWA over the next week or so. At least that’s my understanding. For the record, I’m on UI and haven’t seen a dime of LWA yet.

  40. I was told today around 4:30pm that Nevada has run out of funds!!! So those that didn’t get it wont get it. Sad because I had to have my claim fixed do to issues. It got fixed but i was also told it wouldn’t make a difference do to them being exhausted.

    • That doesn’t make any sense because Nevada just rolled out money in test run on the 17 and supposedly making the rest of the payment to people over the course of this week. Then the next amount goes out next week. Nobody’s really been paid yet.

      • I know ppl who actually have got their payments ppl are just randomly getting them at different times of the day.

      • Facts . The governor said the test roll out began last week and those on ui don’t have to do anything the payments of 900 will automatically be paid in batches thru the end of this week, then on the 26th new week, the additional 300 per week will be applied when benefits are claimed until Nevada runs out of funds. Since the president declined the federal funding and Nevada also being a democratic state it was a political punishment if you will and the states were forced to find funding, implement a way to distribute . Sad but true and folks are suffering but it’s coming.

  41. Like what do they mean when they say self certify because I have been out of work since this thing all started. Got the $600 til the end. We here in Nevada don’t see any link that says self certify unless that’s for the new filers. We just file as usual as they stated we don’t have to do anything but yet we’re hearing that phrase ( self certify) what’s going on here

  42. I live in Nevada. I’ve been on unemployment this whole pandemic, no issues. Wondering why I only received 2wks of the lwa instead of 3wks.

    • Me neither i have not had any problems until now looking for the LWA PAYMENTS haven’t received not one but I see a lot have gotten them I’m just trying to figure out what’s going on, when this is the day for the official roll out.

    • I just got 3 weeks of payments $900 total in LWA money. It was posted to my account last night. I want to know when we will be paid the other 3 weeks that NV was approved and funded for. Everything I see says maybe we will get 1-2 weeks. We should get the other 3 for $1800 total. The state better not keep our money!

  43. Just an update on the federal 300 a week. I got my regular ui paid, plus an additional 810.00 which I’m assuming is 3 weeks of the 300.00 a week (900.00) minus taxes.

      • Im in Nevada and haven’t gotten any LWA yet just my regular ui today when should I get it? I’m stressing out bad..

        • You should call in the a.m. , I was told that there is no more money from Fema. In other words that was used Nevada’s benefits are exhausted. Smh , but I hope it’s not true, because Im a single mom and bills are touching the roof and I cry every day alone in my room to not worry my children. Im So heart broken.

        • It came (900) early this am.. hope starts showing up for everyone! Seems like the comment about the “Y” for deductions and it says -300 lost wages assistance is true.
