Tax Software Upgrade Delays Impacting 2020 Tax Returns and Refund Payments

This article was last updated on February 22

Technology and Tax Software were supposed to have made tax filing more efficient and refunds (where applicable) faster. But thanks to the slew of tax changes from Trumps’ tax code reforms and recent IRS employee cutbacks the software developers at the state and federal tax agencies and at tax software companies that integrate with IRS systems have been unable to get all the changes done in time for tax season.

Now most major changes have been done so if you have a standard return you should be fine and be able to e-submit your tax return normally and get your refund within standard guidelines.
