People are again getting very frustrated with delays they are seeing around getting their federal tax refunds. Despite the IRS saying that 9 out of 10 refunds will be processed in under 21 days, there have been a lot of people who seem to waiting a lot longer than the standard schedule. What’s exacerbated this situation is new laws around holding refunds with EITC/ACTC payments and the opaqueness of the IRS Where is My Refund (WMR) tool which is meant to show the status of refunds from receipt to payment. Unfortunately people can get stuck on one these status’ for a while or have status indicator disappear completely.
This has meant that more than a few commenters on refund related articles and social media have turned to the heavens or divine intervention to seek help. And when they get the refund – praise be to the lord is their reaction. While I am not going to comment on the validity of this, it clearly is working for some. Or at least giving them solace as they anxiously wait for their refund – which really is their own money.
Ruby – Got my ddd!!! I’m so happy.. God bless all of you and I pray everyone receives there refund from here on out in a timely manner!!!! Thank you GOD!!!!!
Tavie – As I stated in a previous posted I prayed that we all get ours on the 10th. Now look @ God!

Me and mines – My bar moved… DDD Feb 10th. Praise GOD… GOD is good
Margie – YAYYYYYYY God thank you. So I do believe if you can request your transcripts it means that they are done processing it and if your bars are gone saying a DDD date will be available it means that they must be getting ready to release DDD this week very soon for the people who filed before the 19th. THE WAIT IS ALMOST OVER. see me and Tavie prayer worked LOL :):).
Tracev- Hello everyone just got the phone with an advocate she was a nice lady and told me that there are no errors or flags to hold my return. p.s. if you don’t tell them you are going through hardship then they want get you any information on you return so say you are. ***sigh** but she said its not guaranteed that i will have to wait that long just to think that way for my sanity I hope this helps God Bless and I am just going to pray for the best.
Paris like everyone else I am trying to be patient. Just left one job for another great opportunity and my finances are tight and I am having to wait to get my first check from the new job but luckily all my bills are paid. Lol….for now. However God is always on time. So anyone else who is awaiting their money. It’ll come, we just gotta wait a little bit.
Amber – I was accepted on the 19th, and the status bar is still on “received”. I called my tax guy on my break, and he said no one in the office that he has filed has even been approved yet, let alone DD’s! This is insane! I filed on the 30th of Jan last year and had my return on the 7th! No one really knows what’s going on! and don’t bother calling the IRS! You’ll wait for an hr just for someone to tell you that it cannot be looked at by someone live until after the 21 day mark! Good God almighty! My car is on it’s last leg, and I really need to get to the dealership!
Other than turning to Jesus or whomever you believe in, you can see this article for finding out more about why your tax return taking so long. The best option for most of us without a heavenly line is to contact the IRS (details below) but you may need divine intervention to get through and get a helpful agent.

Rina -How is that and I was told they can’t hold returns for more than 21 days. I heard its those who file self employment. They said the same thing last year and I received mine the first week of February. I’m not going to worry God is able and I have my proof of my children. I’m not worried about it. I believe its coming sooner than the 15th; Angel Shepherd – I’m with you Rina, I’m not going by what they say, I am counting on what I know God is capable of, he can accelerate this much needed refund. I woke up two days ago to an eviction and i will not worry I refuse to. God has the control!
