2025 IRS Tax Refund Schedule And Direct Deposit Payment Calendar

Tax return processing and refund payments for the 2024-2025 tax season are expected to be much smoother thanks to IRS investments in technology and no new stimulus payments or tax credits to administer. However further security controls and PATH act restrictions (see below) could delay potential refund payments for some early filers.

When Can I Expect My Tax Refund?

According to the IRS refunds will generally be paid within 21 days. This includes accepting, processing and disbursing approved refund payments via direct deposit or check. This is regular days, not business days.

This was the basis for the estimated IRS refund schedule/calendar shown below, which has been updated to reflect the start date of IRS tax return processing this year.

The refund processing schedule is organized by IRS’ WMR/IRS2Go processing status‘. The listed dates are just week ending estimates and your refund could be paid anytime during the week based on your IRS cycle code (see more on that in sections below).

Further, as many tax filers have found out over the last few years, actual refund payment dates could be much longer if your return is pulled for mandated PATH, additional identity fraud/security checks, special handling or manual agency reviews.

The estimated IRS refund payment dates in the chart above should not be construed as official IRS payment dates. To get the exact date of your refund payment check the IRS’ Where is My Refund (WMR) site or your IRS transcript.

How to read the IRS refund processing schedule

The estimated refund payment dates in the table above are based on past years and IRS processing guidelines. It shows the date your refund will be processed and paid based on the week your return is accepted and refund is approved by the IRS.

The federal IRS refund processing schedule is only for electronically filed returns (e-file) done thorough online tax software providers and assumes your tax return was in order. I.e accepted by the IRS via the WMR tool and status is equal to “Return Received”.

Once your tax return is successfully processed by the IRS, it will go to the “Refund Approved” status, after which it goes to refund sent when the payment is disbursed by the IRS.

Paper filed returns can take considerably longer and could take 1 to 2 weeks longer than the direct deposit payment dates.

Average IRS Refund

Based on the latest statistics from the latest tax year the IRS processed over 160 million returns with the average refund payment of $3,138. This was 1% lower than the prior year.

Why Your Refund Payment Could be Delayed

There are many reasons your tax return processing could be delayed beyond what is shown in the standard schedule above. This includes submission errors, IRS reconciliation issues or security/fraud related issues.

This is why many filers are see the “Return Processing Has Been Delayed Beyond The Normal Timeframe (Tax Topic 152)” message during tax season.

Note that as in previous years, if you claimed the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or the Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) your refund may have been delayed beyond the standard processing times due to the PATH act provisions.

This is to allow for fraud and dependent verification on these dependent related tax credits. See sections below for more on the PATH act and refund release timeline.

For those experiencing ongoing issues or delays with their refunds check out this article on “Why is it taking so long to get my refund.”

IRS Test Batches – Early Refunds

A week or two prior to the IRS officially accepting and processing tax returns, they will often run several test batches with various major tax software providers to “test” and “verify” their systems are integrating externally and processing returns correctly.

This will result in WMR status updates for a small subset of tax payers picked in these early test batches, but refunds won’t be paid until after the official IRS processing date.

Note that early refunds paid as a result of test batch processing are not the same as those via refund advance loans.

When Should Taxpayers contact the IRS?

The IRS has said that phone and walk-in representatives can only research the status of your refund if it has been 21 days or more since you filed electronically, or more than 6 weeks since you mailed your paper return or if the IRS WMR tool directs you to contact them.

You can also see earlier updates from prior tax seasons and the thousands of comments below this article around dealing with delayed tax refund processing issues!

Help! My WMR status bar has disappeared

As many folks have commented, the WMR tracker status bar may disappear or not be shown if your return falls under IRS review after it is received (Status Bar 1: Return Received) because additional information is needed for your return.

This can happen even if you previously checked WMR and it showed the status as “Return Received.”  An explanation or instructions will be provided depending on the situation (e.g. PATH message or Tax Topic 152 as discussed below)

But don’t panic when this happens. The IRS still has your return but things are essentially on hold until the IRS gets the additional information from you to continue processing your return . You will either get directions on WMR or IRS2Go or the IRS will contact you by mail. See more in this video.

Follow the provided instructions and return any additional information ASAP to get your potential refund and reduce any further delays. Talk to your accountant, tax advocate or tax professional if you are not clear on what the IRS is asking for or you don’t get an update after 21 days.

PATH Act and Tax Topic 152

Two of the most common refund related messages showing up on the WMR tool after your tax return is submitted are the PATH message and a reference to Tax Topic 152

The PATH message on WMR/IRS2Go relates to the the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes Act (PATH Act of 2015) and is to notify you that the IRS is legally required to hold and further verify tax returns that include EITC or ACTC.

While the IRS can continue to process affected returns, they cannot issue refund payments until the PATH act lifts. This generally happens from mid-February. See more in this article on PATH act processing for the current tax season.

Path ACT Refund
PATH Refund Delays

The PATH message does not mean your tax return is done and your tax refund is approved. It simply means the IRS systems have identified you are claiming the (EITC) or the (ACTC) on your tax return, and so further processing and payments related to your refund are held up for the statutory hold period (3 weeks after the start of tax season).

Once the PATH restriction is lifted, the IRS will process these returns and pay refunds per the above schedule. You may see Tax code 570 with a Notice 971 code (IRS review adjustment) if your refund is adjusted for other reasons.

When you see the Refer to Tax Topic 152 message it means your refund is being processed and the IRS is directing you its generic refund page for more information. There is not much you can do but wait to see if the IRS finds any issues or requires further verification of your identity or items in your tax return.

A Tax Topic 151 message simply means that you’re getting a tax offset which may result in your refund being less than you expected. The reason for this is that the federal government has “offset” or deducted monies from your tax refund to cover debts you owe other federal agencies. See this article to get more details on why your refund was offset.

You will get an official notice letter/report explaining the actual offset and adjustments to your tax return, and details on how to appeal this action – but likely it will delay you getting your refund.

While not great news, the silver lining here is that the IRS has processed your return and your adjusted refund (where applicable) should be on its way. You will see code 846 on your transcript when the refund has been issued.

What is the IRS Cycle Code on my Transcript?

While the above IRS refund schedule can give you an estimated date for you refund once approved (WMR/IRS2Go status) by the IRS, it may take a while to get there.

So some folks use their IRS tax transcript (free from your IRS account) which shows various tax processing codes and a “cycle code.” This is an eight digit number that indicates when your tax return posted to the IRS Master File (IMF).

The cycle code is updated regularly and when combined with the tax topic code, can provide insight into your tax refund status, processing stages and potential direct deposit date. You can see a deeper discussion on IRS cycle codes in this article.

IRS Tax Transcript Cycle Code

If I can see current year processing details on my IRS tax transcript does it mean I am getting my refund soon?

This question comes up a lot and I have seen a few comments on this suggesting that that if you can see current tax season processing details on your (free) transcript then your refund is on the way. But this is not a factual statement.

The IRS is very clear that just being able to see processing details on your IRS transcript does not mean you will imminently be getting a refund and is among the common myths and misconceptions repeated in social media.

For the current tax season you transcript will update several times in line with your cycle code (discussed above) and IRS processing. The official IRS line is that checking the WMR or IRS2Go tool is the best and official way to check your refund status.

However I have read a number of comments here and on other tax sites saying that when WMR/IRS2Go provides limited information on the refund, your IRS transcript can be a good source to get more details. The is especially the case if your refund processing has been stuck for a while.

IRS system issues and refund delays

Every year the IRS has issues with processing returns in a timely manner and so a number of people see delays in getting their refunds or updates in the status of their refund on the WMR tool/app.

The IRS has said most system processing issues have now been resolved and new funding will be used to upgrade systems.

But given the various legacy systems in place and sheer volume of processing to be done, including prior season backlogs of paper and amended returns, I would not be surprised to see system issues arise again this year, which mean more delays in processing and paying refunds. See more around processing delays in this video.

See these articles for average refund amounts in past tax seasons and refund processing times by state

Amended Tax Return Refund Schedule

While the IRS promises to have regular return refunds processed within 21 days for nine out of ten tax payers, it does take quite a bit longer to receive a refund if you amended your tax return.

Generally you will have to wait up to 16 weeks more for the IRS to process amended returns since they prioritize regular returns. Also note that the standard”Where’s my refund” service from the IRS does not track amended tax return status’. You need to instead use the IRS tool, “Where’s My Amended Return.”

You can also access the tool via phone by calling 1-866-464-2050.  Only call the IRS to follow up on delayed amended return refunds after 12 weeks. The number to call is 1-800-829-1040.

  1. My tax return was submitted and approved on 1/29 and is in still being processed status with no other messages. I do have ACTC however this is the first year that I used a tax service and the first year my tax return has been delayed.

  2. I filed my taxes in January. The bars are all gone and it says “being processed”. I have no tax codes at all. I’ve read other sites and people have been calling the irs and ordering transcripts etc. I have not been requested to verify my identity or notified that any action is required on my part. Should I call there it’s or just keep waiting?

  3. E-filed and accepted on 2/7 but still giving no bar on the WMR and now just saying processing and will update more when availale…why so long when I know tons of other people that filed after me and already got theirs back.

    • Same here! I filed a month ago last Friday…. just still processing… many people I know who have also used the EITC and ACTC have already gotten their’s back…. frustrated.

  4. The number to call for confirmation of you have an offset of your refund is 1-800-304-3107
You can just double check no government agency is taking a portion of your return.
Also, because of my profession, when speaking to the IRS be kind and sweet. They have a way of “not processing” things when they are called names and screamed at.
Please understand they answer these questions all day and are blamed for the process. And within recent years, with health care penalities and tax release holds, I’m sure it has been brutal on anyone in their position.

  5. I filed my taxes on the 1/30 and it was accepted the same day. When I checked my status I had a bar showing the status then that disappeared and now I got the your return is still being processed. I don’t have a PATH Act message, I never got a letter in the mail to contact the IRS nothing. This is the 1st yr ever I have ever had this type of issue with my tax returns. I’m sure it has something to do with my return jumped from 3k to 14k but the boost is from my installation of solar panels on my home last yr but this is crazy. Nothing has changed but that. The sad thing is I lent money out with the hopes of I would be ok cause of the refund now up poops creek

  6. Filed my taxes 1/26, accepted 1/29. The bars showed processing, then a week later, no bars. Only says, the IRS received your refund and it is being processed. Since it’s been over 21 days I called the IRS and spoke with someone. The lady then explained my return was randomly selected for review and will take 45 days. Very frustrating !

    • This is almost word for word what I was told. I don’t understand it but yes it is frustrating. My biggest question was why? She said it could be for many reasons or none other then just luck of the draw. I say bad luck of the draw.

  7. Efiled 2/10/18 accepted 2/10/18 wmr says processing still no expected refund date not understanding why….

  8. My Return Was Accepted On 01/17/2018, Filed Electronically and I Did File An Earned Income Tax Credit. But Last Year, (2017) I Received My Refund On February 23rd, 2017, No Problems!!! I’m Thinking It’s Because Of The “Sexual Deviant-In-Chief And His Band Of GOP Misfits Freaking With The “Tax Laws” Is The Reason For These Unnecessary Direct Deposit Delays!!! Damn We Sure Are In Need Of President Obama Right About Now…

  9. When I 1stchecked my status it said “recieved” now when I try to check it says “information does not match our system” has this happened to anyone else? Tax topic 152

    • Filed my Federal..got refund in a week. Filed my NJ State on February 7th. Been checking the Where’s my refund website and it still says “processing”. So, I went to the app IRStogo and it says my info doesn’t match. It’s all accurate, my soical, my status and my refund amount. Something is screwy. You wonder if the IRS works like the insurance industry. They get all the claims in, put in the bank to collect the interest,(which the claimant (us) does not see and then pay us our refund. Mr. “Trump” knows all the little games on how to make a buck..sounds far fetched but I wouldn’t be surprised!

  10. I filed my taxes (very simple, just 1 W-2 form from my job and document from my Grad school) on February 11. Checked status next day, February 12 and it had been accepted (WMR Status = Return Received). It has been like that since then with no changes or updates. My sister filed 3 days before me and already received her refund about a week and a half ago. In previous years, my refund has been approved and sent very quickly (usually within less than a week of me filing). I am not super concerned yet as it hasn’t been 21 days and I can’t technically call them and ask about it until then, still – just for others to know – there is definitely a delay and its not just you!

  11. I filed on Jan. 27th was accepted on Jan. 29th, had status bar on wmr originally, but now just says still processing will provide date when available. Any insight as to when?

  12. I was accepted on the 30th of Jan. And mine also says still being processed. I friend of mine filed on the 2nd of Feb. and got his refund already. What seems to be the hold up?

  13. I filed 2-12 was accepted that day have been checking WMR and it says my refund is still being processed and a deposit date will be provided when ready. I am getting EIC but my friend did hers the day after me and will be getting her refund on Feb. 27th with EIC she also already got her state deposit and I haven’t even got that one. Is anyone having these problems with the IRS having problems getting their state refund as well?

    • Same issues, filed Feb. 4, got my state, my fed was accepted same day and now just says processing. I called Irs, in a Hold now since March 5, they said there are no comments of anything wrong, it’s in review status, so I sked if it was being audited? they said No. Plan on 45 days from March 5, not unless Irs sends a letter requesting more info. or releases earlier. So no help.

  14. Any updates anyone? I’ve had none except the “still processing” message. I’m confused, frustrated and it’s giving me nightmares….seriously.

  15. I e filed my return on the 5th of this month and still have yet even received an email saying my return was accepted!!!! I went to a new person this year just some small place she charged me up front what’s going on? Frustrating this year !!!!

  16. I filed mine on Feb. 1st and was accepted the same day. My status bar is no longer and I have a message that says I’m still being processed. The only thing I had major happen last year was that is was married on Dec. 29th. Could that possibly be the hold up?

    • Same here, no status bar, no tax topics, no letters, just says your refund is being processed.

    • I filed mine on 02/07 and they were accepted on 02/07 and all was fine until yesterday and all my bars disappeared and I have the same message. maybe its because of the influx of people getting refunds and checking the site right now?! I haven’t been able to find any answers to this question myself. if you do please let me know, Thanks

  17. My return was accepted on the 5th, and on the refund page it still says it’s being processed. There’s no further info like the tax topics or anything.

    • This is the same with me and I cannot get through to the irs. I have an offset and I checked my payments to irs and my balance is 0 but I still have not gotten my refund

    • I called the IRS & they said the government is holding back all EIC , Due to fraud in the past. It dont mean we did a fraud return, But others did in the past.

  18. Anyone else still have no bars on wmr?
Just a processing message ? It shows my refund amount and file status. But nothing else? No tax topic. Anyone one else still waiting?

    • I still have the processing message…i called and he said they had to do as employment verification…idk

    • Yeah, I just get a processing message. My return was completed and accepted on the 7th. I read that everyone that files EIC should expect a 1-2 week delay in return. It seems like they are having some real issues on irs.gov.

    • We got the same info but files on 01/29, approved 01/31. after 2:45 on the phone and another 2:00 with another dept they told me it was still being processed and they do not have a date they can release the refund. The rep was rude and said it was because we have children. The same children we have had for the last 5+years. She said it could take up to April for them to send us our return and to use the WMR site and not to keep calling because i will get the same answer.

  19. I was accepted 2/14 and was waiting to be approved on 2/22 i got no bars and message saying “your tax return is still being processed, refund date will be provided when available” with tax topic 152. Does anyone know why ???

  20. Called them the other day because I’m still getting the 152 message. Told me it could take up to 45 days… I don’t understand. We have kids but no other credits so my return is simple. Only one W2 and the same kids we claim every year .It’s feb 23rd!! We filed on January 27th and was accepted on the 29th. I’m getting extremely frustrated.

    • I have kids too, but the IRS has to hold income tax for tax payers who have kids due to fraud in the past, and people claiming other peoples kids. It does not matter how early you filed they have to hold al refunds for those who claimed the eitc until feb 27

    • me to who wants to wait 45 days i am so mad. but here is nothing else to do but wait so.

    • I am too. I filed January 31st (had to wait to get the forms to do that) did so online through turbo tax .. the same way I’ve been doing for a couple of years. TurboTax told me (after I waited the 21 days) that it should be the week of Feb 27th. Well I received the state refund of only $89 before the 27th but the federal return was still showing processing. I called and finally got through to the IRS and the woman told me that it will be by April 1st ?? 45 days from Feb 15th.. because those of us who claimed children and earned income credit would have a delay and that the IRS would not start processing until Feb 15th. I inquired if this was normal and was told yes. However, never in all the years filing did I have to wait 3 months to get my return having done so electronically. They need to provide accurate information.. even this page we’re on has incorrect information with the schedule they provide. I just don’t understand why this woman told me April 1st! .. Additionally when I called on February 27th, I was told that they sent out a letter dated February 26th. It’s now March 2nd and I have yet to receive the letter.. she could or would not tell me what was in the letter, only that there would be a 45 day delay ? why ?? It shouldn’t take that long to review my return which is exactly the same as it’s been the last couple of years. The only difference this year is I made nearly 5K less in income with the same job after the job gave me a raise and how is that possible? well they bumped me up to $10 an hour after 3 years with the company but decided to take away .55 cents per reservation. Consequently even with a raise I lost money with the income I was getting from this moving company. So I really need my refund and this delay is senseless and not helping me and my family. I was told February 27th .. when that day came and went and no deposit I started to get very concerned.. I remain concerned. I hope you receive your refund soon, also.

  21. Filed my return on the 7th. It got accepted on the 7th. Still nothing. People I know that filed later already got their refunds. Even with EIC and CTC. I prepare tax returns for free. I should have gotten it already. Oh well. Time to play the waiting game.

    • I filed mine on the 2nd and it was accepted that day. It still has not been approved and now the status bar has disappeared and it just says it is still being processed and a refund date will be given when available and to continue to check back for more refund information. It’s frustrating because not only do I not have my refund but I also can’t get my stimulus yet since i wasn’t obligated to file taxes last year and this years are still processing. PLUS I haven’t seen any unemployment yet, so it has been 5 or 6 weeks since my work shut down and I haven’t been given a dime since!

  22. Filed mine on the 7th. Got accepted on the 7th. Nothing yet. Have the first bar darkened. Nothing. Kinda getting frustrated. Says nothing on when I will be getting it through my bank.

    • filed mine on the 2nd and it was accepted that day. 23. My refund was accepted 1/26/18. At first the WMR had a status bar and then a few days later it was gone. Now it just says it’s being processed and a refund date will be pro used when available. I tried calling the IRS and could not get through to a human. I have no EIC OR additional child tax credit. I have not received anything in the mail either. Very frustrating! There has been no movement on my refund in almost a month.

    • I am having the same problem. I filed on Feb 14 and its till says that its being processed. Some 5 weeks later and nothing! This is getting ridiculous!!

    • We filed 2/7. I didn’t check it for 2 weeks as i knew it takes at least 3 so i don’t know if i ever had a status bar but since that time I only receive a message that it is still being processed. We do have 4 kids but it has never taken this long…tomorrow is 5 weeks. I haven’t received any letters or anything. I can’t get through to a person. How do i call to find out what is going on?

  24. Accepted 1/19.with status bar…Then.2/5 changed to received and processing , no bar , no date of deposit or anything. Still says processing today 2/22 . Called the number but couldn’t get a human. I’ll be trying agin! Everyone but me seems to have had their money back already with EIC.

      • I e-filed throughbturbo tax on 1/29 it was accepted on the 30th and then then the next couple days it said my state was accepted the 5th of February and then my bar just disappeared I got some code 514 or something like that which I had no clue what it meant so I called the irsgot through to a human who couldn’t tell me anything except that he didn’t know what was going on with it that if something was wrong I would get a letter in the mail so now a couple weeks later it says we have received your tax return and it is being processed that is it it’s been like this for weeks now it’s very upsetting so of course I called them again and got through to a lady who said there was nothing wrong but that slot of people who filed early are still waiting for employers to verify there w2s bc the information is coming in later than the ones who filed later then us it just didn’t make a lick of since but she said there is nothing you can do but wait until your w2s are verified by just one more employer I asked of I could speed up the process by calling my employer but they said no I’m just really annoyed and then they said it could be about may 5th the latest if everything goes right like ohn!!! This royaly sucks

    • Any update with yours, Joy? I am in the same boat as you. Everyone around me has already received theirs. Very frustrating!

    • Not everyone Joy I filed on 1/19 it was accepted that same day. I still only have “Being processed” my sister with an ECE got hers on Feb. 22nd and she filed a week after me there seems to be no plan for how the refunds are sent. I have decided to stop counting on it.

    • My return was accepted on jan 30th buy still says processing. This is crazy ive never had to wait this long i tried calling the number but couldnt get nowhere .also called my tax office and they said there was no note that anything was wrong everything was correct so why is it taking so. Long to approve and send my refund..

    • I have eic and am having the same issue. The path act is still showing and right now it’s Sunday the 23 rd at 1:35 am.

  25. I had my taxes done on 1/26 and I’m still waiting it’s been approved and says the date my bank will receive it is today 2/22 still nothing

    • I filed on the 3rd as Hoh at first but there was a status bar after the 4th day. Then my status changed to single and its was recieved and is still being processed. I had to verify my identity and they told me 9 weeks. Now. Still no status bar and it STILL SAYS PROCESSING.

  26. My date is 22nd which is today but haven’t gotten anything in my direct deposit has anyone have the same issue?

  27. Last Year they did the same to Me, Never received my Rufund on October 2017. This year i efiled On January 29, and still not even process it says. No bar to look at. This is incredible, los of friends that efiled after me, claiming there dependents all received there refund.

    • I filed on the exact same day (1/29) and bar disapeared from WMR tool a few days after file was received. For the past few weeks now I have only been getting the message “you file is still being processed and a refund date will be provided when available”. Finally yesterday when I checked the mail their was a letter from the IRS (4883C) saying that I needed to call in to verify my identity. I just called thme this morning and now they are saying that it could take up to 9 week for my refund to be sent…WTF. If file is already received and being processed, and all they needed was for me to verify my identity, and all of the info I provided was correct, then shouldn’t that be enough to push it through to approved? WMR tool is still showing same message, but they said it could take up to a week for even that to change. This is rediculous!

  28. Good morning everybody…those of us with a ADD of 22nd, min was on time, hope this is the same for wverybody…good luck to everybody!!!!!

  29. Please help! I efiled my return on 1/29, and received confirmation the next day that my return had been received by IRS. From there when I logged onto “where’s my refund” the bar was on “Received” up until 3 days ago. The bar completely disappeared and now says ” your tax return is still being processed, refund date will be provided when available.” I have never seen this message before and I’m worried. Has anyone else been given this message? Should I be worried? Or is this message given to those who filed and has EIC credit? Am I being audited and need to provide more info to IRS? Please help and give me insight, because according to the schedule on here I should be getting my refund this week but it doesn’t look like it. Does anyone have any info? Please help!!

    • ^ mine is saying the same thing! I’m not sure what’s going on if any one does please comment.

    • Mine said the same I called to irs I was told as of 2/14/18 the irs is looking into my refund more and if they don’t need anymore information from me I should have it 45 days from this date and I filed on the 26th of January call 18008290582 ext.652

    • your not the only one i filed 1/31 an it got accepted the same day but no exact date to when i will recieve my refund because its still processing

      • I file 01/31 my was showing bars al the way up to feb 18th now its saying wat every one else is saying but b call an they told me it cn take up to 45 days I think they just behind dis year cause sum ppl file befor the 29 so they got to get every one

    • Mine is showing the same thing, it was accepted on the 5th. My refund status says still being processed with no status bar and that a refund date will be provided when available. I didn’t fall under the EIC bracket.

      • My “Where’s My Refund status is:

Your tax return is still being processed.

A refund date will be provided when available.

I e-filed on January 29th, I have the same two EIC kids as the last 7 years. I thought that we were supposed to be getting returns+EIC after 2-27. What a joke. I better not get audited or verify identity. Looks like it’s time to stop borrowing money to the government and up the W4 dependent’s tab.

    • I am getting the same message on WMR and it has a link to code 152 or something. I am very worrried also! Does anyone have any idea if most people get this message or if I did something wrong?
Does anyone have any updates? My return was accept 2/15 but still processing. I know it has not been very long but it is hard to be patient when I am worried about the message.

      • I’m in the same situation, efiled 2/15 and WMR is giving me the same message with no status bar. Has anything changed on your end?

        • Also filed and was accepted 2/15. And to date, no bars and says “still processing”.

      • I guess that after seeing this, I can breathe a sigh of relief in a sense…

They are doing things COMPLETELY different under the current administration I see.

    • I filed 2/22 had one bar for 2 weeks then the one bar disappeared my brothers was same way called irs said I had to ID verify that I should be getting a letter so my letter came 2 weeks later his came 3 days later he verified over phone I had to go to office he got his refund back in 2 weeks of calling I jus went to office Tuesday but the wording has changed on the wmr site it says your refund is being processed instead of the original msg so I’m hoping but I’d say more than likely if bars disappeared u need to verify something so u should call

  30. Today 2/21 still path message no updates called the IRS they said it still being processed this is frustrating. Anyone else filed and accepted on 1/30 and still waiting?

    • Yes. I am still being processed. Called the IRS this morning and they said my taxes are under review and to call back 45 days from 03/05/18 for an update.

    • I was accepted on 1/30 and I still getting the same message as you. Called IRS they did really have an answer. I told them I have not received a letter or anything… She told me some taxes are under review but they should have sent out letters… I havent received a letter so I am in the waiting game just like you. Stressful

    • Yes- My was accepted on 1/29/2018 and still says being processed and will let me know deposit date. ugh.
      IRS said same thing.

      • So the website shows that my deposit date was on 2/22 and my husband got a text at 2am this morning that the refund was sent which was 2/23. I keep checking my account and nothing. I contacted the bank and they said that it isn’t there and not pending. Also they said for some reason they are only getting tax returns on Tues and Wed so If I didn’t get it on Tues or Wed then I may not get it til next week!!! When I check the website it shows refund sent. Has anyone had this same issue!? If the IRS website says my refund was sent on the 22nd then how come I still don’t have it??

        • Mines is saying exactly the same thing and still no deposit yet..hopefully something changes tomorrow. My entire family had deposit dates of the 22nd and I’m the only one without my refund yet.have you heard anything different?

    • Filed and accepted on 1/29/18 and today is 3/9! Still waiting!!! Called on 2/20 and was told wait 45 days

  31. Filed and accepted on the 9th. WMR has said recieved up until this morning when it changed to still being processed date refund date will be provided when available so now naturally im stressed and not sure if this means something is wrong or if its just being processed

    • Lysa, my refund status is exactly what yours is. I too filed 1/29 and 3 days ago the bar disappeared and now shows what yours shows. Have you had any updates or see anything different when your checking status? I’m worried, frustrated, and confused..I just want to know if this means problem or just IRS pending due to EIC or child tax credit.

      • Still no change yet. According to the shedule my deposit should be today, but so far nothing. I am assuming with as many people that are stating this has happened to them that they are possibly behind on processing and so its causing a delay. I have heard many people saying they are getting this message on WMR. Ill let you know if anything changes on my end.

        • Any updates? Still the same message on my end ” still processing, refund date will be provided when available.”
I’m reading more and more messages on here and other places that many others have the same issue. So it makes me feel better in a sense that I’m not the only one. Maybe next week??

        • Mine updated as approved Saturday morning. I’m starting to think they are behind and that is why so many ppl are getting that message when it’s not processed when it’s supposed to be. Mine is scheduled to deposit on the 28th

        • Oh and I was told by the irs that wmr usually updates on saturdays and Wednesday’s even though the website says everyday those are the big update days

        • Yes I filed March 25th excepted that day. Three days ago my bar was on received wake up next morning my bar is gone tomorrow is 21 days I’ve never waited this long ever I did e file an direct deposit 2 boys I’m not sure who to call either IRS said not answering phones

  32. My tax return has been approved, but it says that it is due to be mailed by feb 27 even though it for approved on the 18th. Is that an estimate?? Is there any chance they will mail it sooner??

  33. Mine said one day it was approved then next day went back to processing what’s up with that?

  34. Accepted on the 24 of January. Kept saying on status bar received. Then disappeared and came up with Path Act. I get that, on the 17th updated to received and processing no status bar and no other info. Really us single parents depend on this . Don’t understand after reading comments that other people have received even with the eitc and other credits. Explain???

    • I am in your same boat same… exact thing happened to me .. first the status bar then the path act .. Now no status bar and is saying it is being processed but my sister in law and others are getting their refund even with the eitc and atc or what ever … I am freaking out because I have no idea why . I have no received anything in the mail and I called the irs and they told me the same exact thing … your right we do rely on this

    • We got the same message and my wife called and the lady told us after reviewing that our return had been randomly selected for additional review. I think it’s another stall tactic!

  35. We filed through TurboTax as we do every year. The only thing that changed for us this year is that we had a set of twins and a singleton within a year, so we added all 3 girls to the return this year. We filed early and the IRS accepted our return on 1/22, everything was going smoothly until 2/17. We logged in to the “Where’s My Refund” to find a message stating that we need to take action. It tells us to call the 800 number and mention 1242 when speaking to the tax representative. It also has code 151 our rights. We called this morning and got no where with them. No answers or explanations. They claimed they didn’t specifically know what the issue was. Has anyone else dealt with this in the past or currently dealing with this? Has anyone received any helpful responses or answers? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    • I had the same thing. It just says “We received your return and it is being reviewed”. There’s no info about a letter being sent or anything. I haven’t received anything in the mail. I did receive my refund that was not associated with the EIC or ACTC that I claimed this morning. Has that happened to anyone else? Wonder what the chances of getting the rest of my refund on the 27th is.

  36. We have filed EIC…On WMR still says processing but we filed through Turbo Tax and TT says 23rd….If TT says 23rd is that correct? Has anyone else had that issue? We already received our State and School refund.

    • Hi I filed with turbo tax too and they have me a date of the 23rd also, but got mine today, so check yours…good luck to u

  37. hi I been did my refund I have no kids and I dud it on jan 29 mines still saying processing I don’t have no letter in the mail nothing I have no date I suppose too been in the 1st branch I been filled but I have no date can someone help me out

  38. When I filed my taxes I forgot to give give my tax preparation lady my new address so I wouldn’t knoe if they need more proof of my identity will it tell me on my WMR status ?

  39. Hello,
Just wanted to give a brief update as I too were playing the waiting game. Processed return 2/2/18 accepted the same day. Kept receiving the “still processing message”. Checked WMR around 5am 2/17/18 and status changed to “Approved”. There was a huge update on the 17th many will see there refunds this week.

  40. I did mines on the 31 got excepted on the 1 of Feb and that shit been like that since smfh why ??

  41. WNT says my refund will be sent to my bank BY 2/22….so does that mean there’s a chance I could get it before the 22nd?

  42. Hey so everyone who filed the same time I did already has their refund. So frustrating! I got divorced last May and moved across the country. Would a filing status change and move affect my processing time? I filed and was accepted on February 7. Still just one bar and topic 152. I can’t get my transcript because it just says my information doesn’t match. What the heck??? Any insight?

  43. Received a letter from the irs I need to verify my identity I feel like this is crazy they do this to me every year. Is it because my refunds over $10000.00? Now it can take another 9 weeks to receive it. I’m so frustrated!!!

    • Kathleen what kind of message did you see on wmr? a tax topic 151? take notice? if you could copy and paste it here so i can see if it is similar to mine it would be greatly appreciated. were you the only one who needed to verify your identity? how did you even do such a thing?

    • if it says est. day to be deposited is feb 19, and that’s presidents day, will it still be deposited?

    • Hope this isn’t the case for me! First year our refund is over 10k and that’s because of my business having a bad year. Haven’t received any letters yet but wmr updated today to still being processed :(
