2025 IRS Tax Refund Schedule And Direct Deposit Payment Calendar

Tax return processing and refund payments for the 2024-2025 tax season are expected to be much smoother thanks to IRS investments in technology and no new stimulus payments or tax credits to administer. However further security controls and PATH act restrictions (see below) could delay potential refund payments for some early filers.

When Can I Expect My Tax Refund?

According to the IRS refunds will generally be paid within 21 days. This includes accepting, processing and disbursing approved refund payments via direct deposit or check. This is regular days, not business days.

This was the basis for the estimated IRS refund schedule/calendar shown below, which has been updated to reflect the start date of IRS tax return processing this year.

The refund processing schedule is organized by IRS’ WMR/IRS2Go processing status‘. The listed dates are just week ending estimates and your refund could be paid anytime during the week based on your IRS cycle code (see more on that in sections below).

Further, as many tax filers have found out over the last few years, actual refund payment dates could be much longer if your return is pulled for mandated PATH, additional identity fraud/security checks, special handling or manual agency reviews.

The estimated IRS refund payment dates in the chart above should not be construed as official IRS payment dates. To get the exact date of your refund payment check the IRS’ Where is My Refund (WMR) site or your IRS transcript.

How to read the IRS refund processing schedule

The estimated refund payment dates in the table above are based on past years and IRS processing guidelines. It shows the date your refund will be processed and paid based on the week your return is accepted and refund is approved by the IRS.

The federal IRS refund processing schedule is only for electronically filed returns (e-file) done thorough online tax software providers and assumes your tax return was in order. I.e accepted by the IRS via the WMR tool and status is equal to “Return Received”.

Once your tax return is successfully processed by the IRS, it will go to the “Refund Approved” status, after which it goes to refund sent when the payment is disbursed by the IRS.

Paper filed returns can take considerably longer and could take 1 to 2 weeks longer than the direct deposit payment dates.

Average IRS Refund

Based on the latest statistics from the latest tax year the IRS processed over 160 million returns with the average refund payment of $3,138. This was 1% lower than the prior year.

Why Your Refund Payment Could be Delayed

There are many reasons your tax return processing could be delayed beyond what is shown in the standard schedule above. This includes submission errors, IRS reconciliation issues or security/fraud related issues.

This is why many filers are see the “Return Processing Has Been Delayed Beyond The Normal Timeframe (Tax Topic 152)” message during tax season.

Note that as in previous years, if you claimed the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or the Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) your refund may have been delayed beyond the standard processing times due to the PATH act provisions.

This is to allow for fraud and dependent verification on these dependent related tax credits. See sections below for more on the PATH act and refund release timeline.

For those experiencing ongoing issues or delays with their refunds check out this article on “Why is it taking so long to get my refund.”

IRS Test Batches – Early Refunds

A week or two prior to the IRS officially accepting and processing tax returns, they will often run several test batches with various major tax software providers to “test” and “verify” their systems are integrating externally and processing returns correctly.

This will result in WMR status updates for a small subset of tax payers picked in these early test batches, but refunds won’t be paid until after the official IRS processing date.

Note that early refunds paid as a result of test batch processing are not the same as those via refund advance loans.

When Should Taxpayers contact the IRS?

The IRS has said that phone and walk-in representatives can only research the status of your refund if it has been 21 days or more since you filed electronically, or more than 6 weeks since you mailed your paper return or if the IRS WMR tool directs you to contact them.

You can also see earlier updates from prior tax seasons and the thousands of comments below this article around dealing with delayed tax refund processing issues!

Help! My WMR status bar has disappeared

As many folks have commented, the WMR tracker status bar may disappear or not be shown if your return falls under IRS review after it is received (Status Bar 1: Return Received) because additional information is needed for your return.

This can happen even if you previously checked WMR and it showed the status as “Return Received.”  An explanation or instructions will be provided depending on the situation (e.g. PATH message or Tax Topic 152 as discussed below)

But don’t panic when this happens. The IRS still has your return but things are essentially on hold until the IRS gets the additional information from you to continue processing your return . You will either get directions on WMR or IRS2Go or the IRS will contact you by mail. See more in this video.

Follow the provided instructions and return any additional information ASAP to get your potential refund and reduce any further delays. Talk to your accountant, tax advocate or tax professional if you are not clear on what the IRS is asking for or you don’t get an update after 21 days.

PATH Act and Tax Topic 152

Two of the most common refund related messages showing up on the WMR tool after your tax return is submitted are the PATH message and a reference to Tax Topic 152

The PATH message on WMR/IRS2Go relates to the the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes Act (PATH Act of 2015) and is to notify you that the IRS is legally required to hold and further verify tax returns that include EITC or ACTC.

While the IRS can continue to process affected returns, they cannot issue refund payments until the PATH act lifts. This generally happens from mid-February. See more in this article on PATH act processing for the current tax season.

Path ACT Refund
PATH Refund Delays

The PATH message does not mean your tax return is done and your tax refund is approved. It simply means the IRS systems have identified you are claiming the (EITC) or the (ACTC) on your tax return, and so further processing and payments related to your refund are held up for the statutory hold period (3 weeks after the start of tax season).

Once the PATH restriction is lifted, the IRS will process these returns and pay refunds per the above schedule. You may see Tax code 570 with a Notice 971 code (IRS review adjustment) if your refund is adjusted for other reasons.

When you see the Refer to Tax Topic 152 message it means your refund is being processed and the IRS is directing you its generic refund page for more information. There is not much you can do but wait to see if the IRS finds any issues or requires further verification of your identity or items in your tax return.

A Tax Topic 151 message simply means that you’re getting a tax offset which may result in your refund being less than you expected. The reason for this is that the federal government has “offset” or deducted monies from your tax refund to cover debts you owe other federal agencies. See this article to get more details on why your refund was offset.

You will get an official notice letter/report explaining the actual offset and adjustments to your tax return, and details on how to appeal this action – but likely it will delay you getting your refund.

While not great news, the silver lining here is that the IRS has processed your return and your adjusted refund (where applicable) should be on its way. You will see code 846 on your transcript when the refund has been issued.

What is the IRS Cycle Code on my Transcript?

While the above IRS refund schedule can give you an estimated date for you refund once approved (WMR/IRS2Go status) by the IRS, it may take a while to get there.

So some folks use their IRS tax transcript (free from your IRS account) which shows various tax processing codes and a “cycle code.” This is an eight digit number that indicates when your tax return posted to the IRS Master File (IMF).

The cycle code is updated regularly and when combined with the tax topic code, can provide insight into your tax refund status, processing stages and potential direct deposit date. You can see a deeper discussion on IRS cycle codes in this article.

IRS Tax Transcript Cycle Code

If I can see current year processing details on my IRS tax transcript does it mean I am getting my refund soon?

This question comes up a lot and I have seen a few comments on this suggesting that that if you can see current tax season processing details on your (free) transcript then your refund is on the way. But this is not a factual statement.

The IRS is very clear that just being able to see processing details on your IRS transcript does not mean you will imminently be getting a refund and is among the common myths and misconceptions repeated in social media.

For the current tax season you transcript will update several times in line with your cycle code (discussed above) and IRS processing. The official IRS line is that checking the WMR or IRS2Go tool is the best and official way to check your refund status.

However I have read a number of comments here and on other tax sites saying that when WMR/IRS2Go provides limited information on the refund, your IRS transcript can be a good source to get more details. The is especially the case if your refund processing has been stuck for a while.

IRS system issues and refund delays

Every year the IRS has issues with processing returns in a timely manner and so a number of people see delays in getting their refunds or updates in the status of their refund on the WMR tool/app.

The IRS has said most system processing issues have now been resolved and new funding will be used to upgrade systems.

But given the various legacy systems in place and sheer volume of processing to be done, including prior season backlogs of paper and amended returns, I would not be surprised to see system issues arise again this year, which mean more delays in processing and paying refunds. See more around processing delays in this video.

See these articles for average refund amounts in past tax seasons and refund processing times by state

Amended Tax Return Refund Schedule

While the IRS promises to have regular return refunds processed within 21 days for nine out of ten tax payers, it does take quite a bit longer to receive a refund if you amended your tax return.

Generally you will have to wait up to 16 weeks more for the IRS to process amended returns since they prioritize regular returns. Also note that the standard”Where’s my refund” service from the IRS does not track amended tax return status’. You need to instead use the IRS tool, “Where’s My Amended Return.”

You can also access the tool via phone by calling 1-866-464-2050.  Only call the IRS to follow up on delayed amended return refunds after 12 weeks. The number to call is 1-800-829-1040.

  1. This is insane. I filed early in January, I got randomly selected for auditing. I was told by the IRS customer service line that they had 45 days after March 3rd to make sure it was correct. I’ve never received letter for any issue and the dead line to receive my refund was five days ago. I’m so angry because now you can’t even get anyone from the IRS to speak with. what the hell am I supposed to do? I can’t work because of this virus as my children are doing remote learning from home.

  2. well this table is not accurate at all it seems my taxes were accepted March 30 it says its still processing now covid 19 money ether so I guess i just lose everything … nice work IRS

    • Mine were accepted March 20th…still no refund or stimulus. Why such a long delay?? We did not have any of the reasons listed above for delays.

    • Mine were accepted March 20th…still no refund or stimulus. Why such a long delay?? We did not have any of the reasons listed above for delays.

Surprisingly I did get my California refund only a few days after I filed. Why is my federal refund not being processed???

  3. I filed Jan 27…..said I was under review…hasnt change…sent in additional information within a week of receiving my letter of what documents to send in. No stimulus or refund!

  4. I really starting to get upset now . I filed my 2019 taxes on 3/9/2020 and it now 4/17/2020 , still did not receive my refund , It was electronically file through TurboTax and it started that it was accepted by IRS, and still :say being process.: I also still have not received my stimulus check , which was suppose to be here 4/15/2020 , and that say no info available at this time , That the status …. what going on with the IRS ? This is not right . Where is my money. Millions of people need there money . But if situation was the other way around , the IRS will Garnish your wages to get there money , It not right what the million of people are going through , we need are money. The IRS really need to check the glitches so the people can get there money ASAP .

  5. i have filled my taxes as of 3/20/2020 electronically thru your affiliate site , my income is far less than the 75.000 threshold, i do not owe child support of any kind in any state and or country, if this is supposed to be tax free then where is my stimulus check at , if they can make a mistake and deposit millions of dollars into accounts of us citizens then they can disperse the funds to honest hard working tax payers like myself who actually need the funds so that we can pay our bills and buy food for our families, Mr.Trump as being a sitting president you should take this matter very serious and make certain that the checks are sent out to , as per what you stated out of your own lips and help those people who are really counting on making ends meet.

    • I am in the same boat as you right now. I filed my tax returns on the same date you file drawers and I received my state return within a week or two. Still no tax refund, of course none of us can even speak to a live agent at this point and I still don’t have a stimulus check either. This is so horrible! I understand that they were trying to send out the stimulus packages but to me they needed to make sure that everyone received their tax returns first, as most people’s tax returns are greater than stimulus packages. Then they messed up stimulus packages and now they had to fix those. To me everyone in the IRS should be working, this is the worst time to cut people when you I am in the same boat as you right now. Absolutely ridiculous!

      • I e-filed mine on 2/21 and got State refund in 10 days. It was prepared by CPA. I waited for 21 days as suggested and contacted IRS, the same issue since even before the shutdown, no live person to talk to, just automated response, “Being processing.” Because IRS received my 2019 file under processing, they are not sending the stimulus fund, either. It’s been almost 2 months. Many people got Federal refund and/or $1200 right away. It is horrible and makes me feel so angry. Trying to calm down as there is nothing I can do until they open up offices but so frustrating. I want IRS to pay me interest as I am paying interest on my credit card I cannot pay off!!!

    • Hi,
First I get the frustration as I sit here looking for my refund wondering why this is any different than any other year, wondering why the IRS people can’t work from home, wondering why they even exist at all because truly they are always completely worthless, but here are a few things.

Your stimulus check and your taxes are two different matters. You should know this by now. At this point and date hopefully you do. Hopefully you have figured out to go to the stimulus site to check on your stimulus payment. Where was your 2018 tax return deposited? Was it a prepaid card? Or a tax companies account and then they have you a check? Just make sure. Put your own info in just to be safe.

Next, this is personal. It’s President Trump. He was overwhelmingly elected President of The United States Of America. You don’t have to like him. Don’t disrespect him because the IRS who he can’t control (no one can have you not noticed that) won’t give you your money. They are wrong not him. He didn’t have to sign the bill fir free money and remember that’s what it is free money you wouldn’t have had anyway, in the first place. Come on people. Seriously. Let’s stop blaming and arguing and do something together like we did as a country in 9/11 instead of worrying on our own 6 feet apart surrounded by toilet paper. Good grief.

  6. This is truly sad no return no stimulus and nobody to talk to filed feb 11 60 day hold was told i didn’t need to do anything on my behalf and to not even contact them tell 60 days from the letter i recieved march 23 smdh.

    • I am in the same boat as you right now. I filed my taxes feb 1 2020 and received same letter dated feb 19th but was told by the irs not to call til atleast 60 days as well and today April 17 2020 H&R BLOCK informed me that they just heard that the irs is shut down as of this week and not processing any kind of paper returns and since im supposedly getting “randomly paper audited” it’ll be atleast 2 weeks before i hear anything more on my return even tho i should have it like 2 days from now. I’m a single unemployed mom of 2 that has gotten $0 since valentines day. Let me tell ya it aint easy payin bills on that!

  7. I filed Feb 4th my returns were excepted by irs that day based on me checking wheres my refund the next day. The last two years my refund was offset for school loans. At the end of 19 I had started to contest some of the amts and dates that the loans were dispersed because I wasn’t enrolled in school some of the dates and I want to make sure these are truly my debts. So i wasn’t sure if I would still have my federal refund garnished. I was in no hurry for it and basically put it in the back of my mind. However I did receive my state refund the end of March paper check in the mail. I was signed up for direct deposit when I did my taxes but figured state must have not wanted to do direct. Again I wasn’t holding on too tight to get my federal but once I got my state I began to wonder if I was going to get my federal because typically in years past anyway I would have gotten a letter telling me about the offset by this point and almost 2 months and no letter. So I look online to find the care act is stopping all federal student loan offsets for garnishment if the garnishment occured on or after march 13. A few days later I receive what i believe is a 4464c letter explaining that my return was under review for 60 days and for me to not contact them til after this 60 days. The wheres my refund now says still processing and tax code 152. But crazier still is the fact that i received my stimulus check direct deposit the first day that they went out. Obviously no one answers when calling irs but I would love to know if I am even getting anything? I can hold and wait for everyone to get their stimulus money but i just want to know if my refund was ever garnished before the March 13 deadline which would make me not qualify and the dept of education will get my refund. My return did have changes that might have flagged it to be reviewed. One being last year I didnt claim my children this year i did. This year I filed head of household for the first time. This year I filed a 1099 for the first time and two separate w2s. I didn’t even hear anything from the irs about this review for nearly 2 months after i e filed thru Jackson Hewitt. And if I contact the dept of education and check to see when the last loan payment was made (wanting to see if one was made prior to the date that would disqualify me) they say no payment has been received since April of 2019 which would have been last year’s tax refund. I don’t know how I already got the stimulus and not the tax refund since I would figure that my info must check out as far as identity and other factors or else they wouldn’t have paid the stimulus to me! If they don’t know if my income is correct then how are they able to know if I qualified for the stimulus and if they don’t know if I am me then why would they send the payment to my bank act. If anyone has had similar to this please let me know. I am not trying to rush payment (even tho its been over 2 months) I just want to know what to expect and a time frame so I can budget things and be cautious if i get forgot about or if I fall between the cracks with all the confusion that is going on with everyone’s stimulus and refunds. Thanks

  8. I was able to file on February 3 and got accepted. First stated processing on Feb 10 by Feb 19. Received tax code and letter saying no information need please wait until April 19 for further notice or refund. I honestly don’t think since COVID19 no one in IRS is working on our returns. Still waiting from status to change from still processing to processed. Never had this issue before .. The tax code is general and no information was request of me so where is my refund. Crazy. If you call the number no reply I even wrote them to ask what they need in March. No reply.

  9. Filed my refund at the begining of march. March 5th it was “recieved”. Still no refund, noone to contact in the irs except unuseful machine recordings. Now everyone is recieving stimulus and suprise no dam stimulus yet either. Absolutely furious about this during such a needful time. This is 100% irresponsibile. People can’t work. Many of us are counting on these returns to get through. HUGE OVERSIGHT on governments behalf.

  10. I need help as well so I let my fiance claim my 3 kids well come to find out there was some1 used his name n he now has unreported wages. Hes talked to the irs the irs guy put his 2019 refund on hold so it can get resolved, well covid hit and no the irs is closed we have no idea on how to get his 2019 tax return

  11. If your return has been accepted but it is still being processed, will you still get your stimulus check dd? Its Wed 4-15 and no sign of my stimulus check yet. BEYOND FRUSTRATED!!

    • I haven’t received my refund and i filed in early Feb. However, I did receive my stimulus check the first day that they went out. That is actually more confusing to me that I got it than people in your shoes who haven’t. Wheres my refund says mine is still processing and I got a letter saying i was under a 60 day review. If they are reviewing my claim then how did they know if I should get the stimulus or if I was really me or if that was my bank act. The whole system is so screwed up. And this year i have read so many people who filed early Feb..and specifically Feb 4th even (the date I filed) are in the same boat of being under review and or return being processed with a tax code 152. But rest assured your stimulus won’t be effected on it getting to u even if u don’t have your tax refund yet.

      • This is exactly my situation i spoke with someone before everything shut down they told my husband that it usually take 45 to 60 day and would start procession on 3/9 she said our file said 45 day for some reason so that would have been 4/20 ish to recieve a letter for amendment or i would get refund and i havent gotten a letter or a damn thing.. i dont get why ppl can go into resturant now but the irs cant work to get our refunds its crazy they should have someone to answer ur calls..we called TSA today trying to get answers left message i doubt we hear back but im staying hopeful

    • My return has been “in process” for about 3 weeks, however, I did receive my stimulus check this week.

    • We got our stimulus yesterday even though I wasn’t expecting it since we still haven’t received our refund. At least we know they have our info and bank stuff. Now I want the rest of this money. Very frustrating time.

  12. My mom has had direct deposit for several years, same bank account. Supposedly the irs is to deposit with your direct deposit information. However when I try to check the status it says it doesnt have her bank info. When I enter it the system sends me straight to an error page (not 152) now it says Ive used the system too many times. Figured this would happen. Bet you dollars to doughnuts MILLIONS of people will not receive this stimulus until its too late for them or not at all due to the irs being typical idiots with your tax dollars.

  13. I file on February 8 through Turbo Tax. Message I keep receiving says still processing. When you call no love agent is available. It has been over 60 days without any communication as to what’s going on with my taxes. Having no way to reach IRS is ridiculous. At these times this money is needed. I have no job currently just waiting to receive my money back is frustrating.

  14. This is so sad I E-filed my taxes on February 3 and they’re saying 152 error they needed to verify my wages,It doesn’t take that long to verify someone’s wages, the sad part about this situation is so many people are receiving a stimulus check, mean while you still have a lot of folks like me payed and filed taxes but still haven’t received our funds for taxes,im convinced something else is going on,some folks have received their Federal taxes and that stimulus money, why are they doing this to me I have not received my Federal taxes, nor have I received that stimulus money,I wish you irs would release my Federal taxes,I payee my taxes therefore it’s my money I need it now,can someone respond, people are really in need we have children,i hope they’re not stealing our money and giving it away to those who are receiving that stimulus money, meanwhile you have hard working folks who are still waiting on Federal taxes..never the less,I haven’t even received no darn stimulus money that’s the sad part about this, can someone respond this is pathetic.

  16. I filled my taxes on February 20th and I have got my State refund
Why am I having to wait so long for my federal tax return I should have gotten it by know

  17. I filed February 15, 2020 by mail before any of this stuff happened. I try to check the site for my return and it does not say anything. I have tried to get intouch with them for a month now and I can not get anyone. What do I do?

  18. I FILED MY TAXES JANUARY (28) 2020 I RECEIVED MY STATE CHECK MARCH 27.. BUT I’M STILL WAITING ON MY FEDERAL I’VE DOWNLOADED THE IRS 2GO APP .. IT’S STILL SAYING BEING PROCESSED ‍♀️ THIS IS HORRIBLE WHERE IS MY MONEY ?????

  19. Both my returns were accepted on Feb 8the. I received my state return at the end of Febuary. It’s the middle of April now and the IRS site says my federal is still being processed. What is going on?

  20. How do you know if you received your 2019 tax return or your 1 time stimulus payment ?

What will it show in bank account if you are expecting both ?

  21. I have filed my taxes have topic 152 sent in the paperwork and it’s still have being processed and topic 152 still there so what I need to do now

  22. I filed Feb 24 2020 , but never got anything saying it was accepted , only that it is still processing and still says processing, and a date will be given when available. There was only maybe 1 or 2 things different about my return this year so i am not understanding why im almost on day 50 since i filed , And no one is in the IRS office to take calls , Some people have already gotten their taxes and stimulus check and here i am just a sitting duck not knowing what to do ..

  23. Does anyone receive an answer to their questions? Return accepted February 29. Site just says processing as of April 12.

    • Same here. The IRS accepted my return 2-27-20. The bar disappeared but it says my return is still being processed and to see tax topic 152. I’ve tried calling but can not talk to anyone. I have not received anything from the IRS saying my return is being reviewed or even asking for more info. It’s been 54 days now and still counting. Previous years was anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks. The website says they are still processing and issuing refunds but it doesn’t seem like that’s true, and if they arr working with just a skeleton crew and don’t even have employees there to answer then it’s probably safe to say we won’t be seeing our refunds anytime soon.

  24. Hi. I filed my 2019 return through mail. Was sent out February 24th, and when I checked around the 2nd to last week of March it said they recurved it in the status bar. My question is that if they say they recurved it with my direct deposit info on the forms, will they send my stimulus check to me via direct deposit?

    • I filed feb7th got a id verify letter on febuary 26th called the next day verified and was told i would receive it in 6 to 9 weeks then got another letter march 24th saying im on a 60 day reveiw and not to do anything. Every number I call is a recording. I hope someone can read this and give us some INFO asap !

  25. I Filed my 2018 tax and had direct deposit that account is now closed- Filed on feb 10th my 2019 return and it is “still being processed/ with topic 152” if you filed your 2019 taxes electronically even though its in process will the IRS use that routing info and bank info to deposit the stimulus check.”

      • yes, they will Direct Deposit into the account you put for your 2019 taxes. Mine still says processing, but I received my stimulus check through the account I listed for my 2019 taxes, and they used the same account to deduct money they said I owe for 2019 state tax, yet my federal hasn’t been processed….

    • I have the same situation and I filed my 2019 return 35 days ago and it says “still proccessing” and today I checked on the stimulus app and they said they sent my stimulus money to my now closed accound……UGH! Just called my old bank and waiting to hear from them, hoping they can help

    • Yes they did mine. My taxes r still being processed since Feb 4th- but i did get my stimulus in the bank act that I put down for my 2019 refund to be deposited in.

    • They did with mine i havent recieved my 2019 federal return its being held for review bulshit.. but they used my current bank info for stimulus check.

  26. I filed on feb1. It was recieved and still on processing mode till today. Code says 152. I called irs they mailing me a letter still waiting on it. But due to all this coronavirus epidemic going around i feel tbe irs should reconsider sending these checks out now tbat some of us will be without work or kids at school and we need it more now than ever

    • I filed my tax return efile Feb 1 2020 and till this date still have not seen my return and its frustrating for people in need of it and with the virus going on it would help alot more if irs updates me on what’s going on and when I will see my return.

      • The same here I efile with H&R I received my state taxes and no federal taxes the irs accepted and still being processed ever since January 31, 2020 .It’s so unfair and so frustrating . and to top it off H&R received their payment .if I had known I would have filed my taxes for free and mailed my taxes If I have known I paid H&R for nothing. 345.00 dollars

    • how did you get a live tax person? i keep gettting voice recordings.. filed feb 6th, accepted and processing. state already got sent to me. still waiting on federal.. :( please help

      • How did y’all get a live person? They keep telling me no live phone calls. My return was received on feb 3. And today makes 9 weeks… will I get the stimulus before I get federal?

        • I filed on February 8th. I was able to get someone on the phones twice before they shut down. Both times I was told they made a mistake on their side. I didn’t do anything wrong. But it delayed my return. Both times I was told I will have it April 5th! It’s April 9th and I do not have my return and the offices are shut down.
Will I ever get my return?! My return is the same as previous years. I always file online myself through Turbo tax. I had to call Turbo Tax and ask for an extension to pay the fee they usually take when you get your deposit.
Since it has taken so long Turbo tax wanted to pull the fee directly from my account. Turbo tax had no issues with giving me another 3 weeks.
So anyways if you have the same situation call Turbo tax. They are working and they will extend your time to pay the fee for using their services.
Wondering if I will ever get our return

        • I am wondering the same thing, I filed Feb 24, but never got anything saying it was accepted , only that its is still processing and still says processing . So will i get the stimulus check before my taxes this is just crazy

    • I filed mine Feb 2 ,2020. And still haven’t gotten. My federal tax return yet. This is crazy and I code I’m getting is 152 also

  27. IT IS MARCH 2020, HOWEVER, It has been well over a year since I filed my 2017 return. I mailed my return in and made sure I had proof of service and signature confirmation. You think that would make a difference and hold the IRS accountable! Nope! They claim my return was lost so 5 months late after multiple calls and horrific hold times, an IRS employee FINALLY instructed me to mail my return in again. I mailed in a duplicate. It was finally scanned into their system, however they got confused because they found the original that I mailed in and thought someone was trying to commit fraud…EVEN THO I ATTACHED A COVER LETTER STATING I WAS ADVISED TO MAIL IN A DUPLICATE BECAUSE MY INITIAL RETURN IN FEB 2018 HAD NEVER BEEN SCANNED IN!

So this prompted an id verification, which I completed. At this time I requested TAS services and was assigned to the most god awful, lying, incompetent IRS employee imaginable. I also requested Congressional assistance. So between the Congressional aid, the TAS employee, and I…a conference call was scheduled. All of us attended this conference call….YET THE TAS EMPLOYEE LIED! SHE SAID IT NEVER TOOK PLACE! You have got to be pretty bold to lie on Congress! She said my case was closed out because I was unable to be contacted and missed the conference call. She also kept saying I did not turn in medical exemption…which i had Medicaid and that did not apply to me! So because she is incompetent to due her job, she used methods of victim blaming and fraud by making false statements on me and the Congressional Aid of Senator David Scott! Talk about a headache!!!
Now i have filed complaints with TIGTA and I am hoping that the Inspector General for the Tax Commissioner will be of some help, since I am reporting fraud and IRS employee misconduct.

This lady has entered so many lies and errors on my 2017 return, that all IRS employees that have looked at my file have apologized to me and said they feel BAD! Dates out of chronological order, untruths, and multiple case numbers for ONE tax year period! If this lady can’t count or read, she has no business working for the IRS. Especially if she will lie to save her job and performance.

    I AM UTTERLY DISGUSTED

  28. Efiled via turbo tax on January 24th. Return was accepted by IRS on January 27th. Still “processing”… We made a deal with our land lord, moved from a 2 bedroom to a 3 bedroom, with the agreement we would pay difference in deposit and pay 5 months ahead on rent with income taxes. We’re now behind on rent and deposit and loaing our asses until we get our money. Advice, wait until you have your money before making any big changes… The IRS doesn’t give a damn about us unless we owe them…

  29. It’s now been almost 30 days and my simple return with only regular child tax credit still hasn’t updated at all…. This is so beyond stressful and we may become homeless because of this!!!! So sad how our system works, and how most people don’t have hearts!!!! We have alot riding on this small return this year hence why I did so early. Everyone else I know at least got an approval and deposit date while mine still says freaking processing…..

  30. I was accepted on 2/3/2020. I have the eitc. I had bars but now disapp eared. It now says a refund date will be available. Hopefully I will get my refund back by the first week of March. Please comment back.

    • Hi, mine was doing the same thing, now have DDD of Feb. 26th as do ALOT of people i know, i think the 1st large batch of refunds are going out this week..so hopefully u will see urs soon

    • I filed on feb10 2020 I had 1 bar then on March 1 2020 my bars dispear I call the irs they told me that they didn’t have my 940 and 941 forms or wages my employer sent them we have proof they said it was not there but it is then I find out that there is a nationwide delay in refunds so it been rough I go to where is my refund and it says still processing and date will be a able soon I know it’s there the computer are slow updating and I am still waiting I was part of the pac k path

  31. Last year there was a site that showed dates and a sliding bar .anyone know where it is

    • Mine got accepted on the 11th of feb. im still waiting. all my friends got their dates and I haven’t gotten one yet. ugh!

  32. I filed on January 26th, 2020. Both state and federal were accepted on January 27th, 2020, it’s been 21 days and I still haven’t got my taxes. I e-filed using TurboTax and they don’t give you an exact return date so I went to the irs, wheres my refund website and it said, “ We are unable to provide information about your return at this time. Initial processing for error-free electronically filed returns is 2-3 weeks. Initial processing for mailed in returns may take up to 10-12 weeks. If this period has expired, please contact our office at (502) 564-4581, Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. eastern standard time.” Does anybody know what that means?

    • Mine was accepted Jan 27th and I have still not got anything and I only claimed one child this is bull shit the government is making honest people wait so damn long I have bills too pay and can’t wait much longer

      • Anybody with eic they hold until at least Feb 15 by law..but refund didnt come last year til last week in Feb and this year my DDD is Feb 26th, so again last week in Feb ugh!!

      • I filed on Jan 27th 2020 and excepted Feb 012029. I am single mom 1 child and now they are telling me 45 more days omg this is crazy.
        SD

    • The site was updated today Feb 22,2020
If you have a child tax credit and file early it takes longer than 21 days since these tax credits are the most abused by people lying to receive more back. You should have an approved status as well as deposit date, go check.

  33. I filed Jan 24th was excepted Jan 27th, Topic 152 came up, until Feb 16th, now its saying being processed for the second time? Why?

  34. Anyone received their refund yet???? Dec 13th today and I filed back in February! It will be a year soon and still NOTHING

  35. I was charged a CP22A bill for a minor discrepancy with my federal tax return form. I was billed for it in August, which I ended up paying a few days late because I was out of the country thus did not see the mail until I got back. I mailed a check, and it got processed according to my bank statement. It’s November, and my tax return is still being processed according to their website. I can’t seem to find a way to figure out what is happening.

  36. Its October 22 and we filed Feb 4th and received our State return promptly. The Federal is what is up for review like how do we get the state but not the federal?? We have received numerous letters telling us to wait 30 days then a few letters saying wait 60 days. This is so frustrating!! It will be time to file again at this point I could just scream!

  37. The IRS fixed my unpostable condition on August 23rd my Tax advocate said it will take two weeks to process any thoughts on this situation

  38. I filed on February 1. My return was accepted February 2. I got a letter dated March 18 stating that my account was under review and it would take up to 45 days for them to work on my account. I got another letter a couple days later saying the wait would be 60 days. I called the IRS after the 60 days where up on May 18 and was told that it would take an additional 60 days to work on my account. I received a letter in the mail dated June 10 explaining that they are waiting on my account information to appear on their computer system and to allow 60 days from the date of the letter. It’s now August 8th which is almost 60 days from when the last letter was sent and still no refund or explanation. I’ve worked at the same employer for 10 years and have never had an issue like this before.

  39. I have filed my tax on the 19th of February n still waiting for my returned. I’ve received 2 letters after first 60 days n second one says another 60 days what’s is the hold up this is ridiculous……

  40. Filed February 4, 2019. Today is July 9th 2019, after many calls to the IRS I have been given the same answer “your refund is being processed”. 22 weeks processing? I have filed the same way for the past 30 years.

  41. I’m wondering how many people were ‘chosen’ for further review this year & how much that average return is for this group? My family is in the same situation. Efiled March 4th, accepted the same day. After weeks of seeing ‘still processing’ on the irs website we received cp05 letter in mail April 11th. It is now June 25th & NOTHING! Return was done as it has for the last 12 years, same job, address, kids, etc. Tried calling but was literally told that the person who could tell me what was going on had NO PHONE, but she kept putting me on hold to talk to this person on the other line!!!!!!!!! NOT KIDDING!!!!! With temps answering their phones, who are not authorized to actually do any real work, the IRS is making these situations much worse. I’d rather the phone not be answered then answered by someone who can’t help me & lies to me more!!!

  42. Efiled back in Feb. Received a letter stating they didn’t receive my 1040 on March 1st. Sent back in the same day and refund said sent. It’s now June 14th and I haven’t gotten anything! Called to check and it’s back to “processing” wth!? I did everything right and have waited this long! What is going on with the IRS? I planned a family vacation with my return!!

  43. Filed Feb. 19, accepted Feb 23, tax topic 152, accepted again June 7. IRS claims it was sent June 12 for direct deposit. STILL NO REFUND!!!!! What a damn joke!

  44. Irs send my refund on may 30 to hrblock block today is june 4 2019 still didn’t receive it. Student loan offset so the balance was sent to hrblock block still don’t receive it irs said to. Me when I spoke to them. It may take a week before it go on my emerald card is that possible my daughter file child support told some send her the rest as scheduled

  45. I filed federal and state taxes on Feb 28, 2019, they were accepted that same day. I received my state return and HHC (heating credit) promptly. I received a letter finally on April 15 stating to not call or do anything for 30 days, as they were still reviewing my return. Here I am 2 weeks after the 30 days is up… just waiting for a letter in the mail or ANY notification of what is going on. Seems like a big mess.

To be fair, my father always warned me of this! He pays his taxes annually instead of having them withheld. He always said “Don’t let the government handle your money, they’ll do what they want with it.”

We are all along for the ride. I see I am not alone though!
